Looking to have a few days away in November but don't know where !! We usually go to Bath or Windsor, but fancy a change .... Want somewhere quite quaint, nice bars / resturants & some nice shops to do some Christmas shopping ... Any suggestions ?? X

Chester is a nice place for a weekend. Not been there for several years, but it used to have good shopping as well as being a bit different.

As if!!!!

It was chocolate! And very, very nice!

To the OP - have you tried either Cheltenham or Oxford? Both great for bars, restaurants and shopping!

Oooh, I was going to say Chester too. :-[

It's big enough for good shopping, has some quality restaurants, and good nightlife too, whilst not being too big to get around on foot

I'd vote Chester too, plus it's close enough to go travelling to the shops in Liverpool or Manchester if you so wish.

It also has the added advantage of being close to various swinger clubs, albeit you'll need to drive if you wished to go on the Friday or Saturday night
