I walked into a sort of intervention today, it was because I'm a grumpy guts and always have been and it's making them unhappy. If i could just click my fingers and be cheery whenever i want I'd do it all the time.
I'm not looking for sympathy I'd just like to know how you would feel in that situation. |

Annoyed, pissed off and snappy in the moment probably.
But hopefully when Iv had time to reflect after I’d take into account how unhappy I’m making people that they felt the need to do a intervention and make steps towards change. |

In which situation? Working with someone who is making me unhappy or being a grumpy guts?

If I thought they were genuinely concerned about my emotional and mental state, I would say thanks, but I will deal with it myself when I think it’s appropriate, however this sounds more like they don’t care so much about you but more about how you are affecting them, which isn’t so much of an intervention as a whinging session, in which case I would probably tell them that they really aren’t required to spend time in my company if they don’t ways to and can merrily go fuck themselves. |

Truth is people only notice the change in a person when it starts to effect them. Instead of looking at it from a selfish point of view, they should have expressed concern and try to understand why your unhappy. That being said, any kind of intervention is done with some good intention so you would have to make that observation yourself.
Hope your okay OP and remember if there's something making you unhappy, your the only person that has the ability to change that |

My friends once said similar but it was because I was very depressed and hadn't realised.
If they said it now I'd tell them to fuck off and find someone who made them happy.
Depends on the person. I have a colleague who sucks the air out of the room they are so negative. |
