Do you mean the “x”? I never use it and I don’t think it means anything. It seems ubiquitous. The person would have to let me know that it means more than a habit in their messaging.

It means nothing more than the person is in the habit of putting X at the end of messages.
Mr N was so used to doing it when he emailed me that he put Xxxx on am email to the MD of the company he was working for at the time. My friend was so used to typing "I love you" to her husband that she typed it to the gas engineer. |

Friendly and harmless unless its like 10 on row then I'd worry...I would only use it with ppl I know but more times that enough I'll use lol instead! That bugs ppl apparently...each to there own rather have a x at end of a message than be called babe or sex y...thats just sleazy |

My ‘x’ on messages are a bit random.
They don’t really mean anything although I do try and match what other people do. I have a friend that puts xx on the end of every single message to me so I always put 2 back.
I put an x if I’m writing something that may seem a bit short or can be taken the wrong way to show I don’t mean it in a harsh way too.
Although I had an ex that never put any ever so neither did I… he put out though so it didn’t bother me |

It's only a big deal if you read more into it than is meant by the person who sent it. I tend to do it out of habit more than anything else. On here I tend to sign x followed by initial so the reader is aware as to which one of us is replying xT |
