You think everything is cool and then...

You go on Facebook. We are Swingers and we are naturists. Sometimes news articles come up on Facebook about aspects of Swinging or Naturism (it's as if the algorithms are watching me). Anyway in my world there's absolutely nothing wrong with swinging or being sexually liberated and nothing wrong with non sexual nudity and the naked form in everyday life. However when you read the majority of comments it seems to suggest that to a lot of the population see these things as a big issue and as quite disgusting. Some speak with such vile. Very few speak in support or understand or just live and let live. But we are not shy about about our enjoyment of these lifestyles and evangelise about them to others. Am I living in my own mind in a liberal paradise that doesn't exist? More practically should we be worried about expressing our lifestyle/s for risk of discrimination or harm? |

Be your best self!
There is a very good article kicking about online entitled
“Taming the mammoth”
Gives a good argument about why we should stop caring about what others think of us.
Enjoy yourselves lovely people. X |

I don't know why people put so much stock in what Karen's on Facebook think.
That being said, I wouldn't be evangelising the lifestyle to others that aren't in it.
Kind of if you know, you know.
Some people will always disagree with it, you live your life, they live theirs. |

Those comments are a eye roll and hafe
They very judgmental
And the worst off it is the things I have heard in the vinilla night club seen wouldn’t be a miss in the swingers world
See Katy there in the comments on Facebook she was out clubbing at the weekend
Got took home by a bunch off pals and spit roasted or gangbanged
But it’s ok it happened from a night club so she things it’s different from the swingers world
No honey a gangbang is a gangbang no matter if it was guys from a night club or guys from a swingers site or a swingers club |

The last place you should seek or expect open minded opinions is on social media. It only takes one alternative comment to trigger the snowball effect.
It doesn't matter what the subject is.
I don't follow swinging related pages on social media so I can't comment in relation to those.
I do however follow numerous hiking and hillwalking pages which obviously carries virtually no stigma in the eyes of the general public.
I have a background in search and rescue and the level of abuse aimed at experienced people by those who only discovered hillwalking as a side effect of covid is mindblowing.
People have been injured and/or lost as a result of some of these disagreements and an I'll show you attitude.
The topic is irrelevant when it comes to antisocial media. |

What do you mean you evangelise about it?
I think that's the problem some people have with Swingers. Some Swingers think everyone wants to hear about their sex lives, who what where they shagged....

That's exactly what we do? We don't care. However as well as a bit saddening it's poses the question of risk from those hostile in society. You hope it's all hot air. |

Obviously when we say we don’t care what others think we always keep our weapons close to hand and a good stock of ammunition. |

Naturally, although it's been a bit of a challenge keeping the powder dry for the old blunderbuss in this weather. |
