No photos due to work?
Jump to: Newest in thread
What does ones personal sex life/interests have to do with ones work though?
Why would it be an issue or of any relevance to an employer?
Surely it's none of their business? And if a colleague saw a colleague here, well they're here too..
The only thing I can thing of is if you're working in the criminal justice system or something maybe due to conflicts.

Some works have it in they contacts
Some can see it damageing to they brands
Some maybe in the public spotlight and it could be fround appon
But I will say
With modern technology there is no excuse for not have any at all
Photo editiers and blurs are very easy to access stright on your phone
And it’s not a compliment prosses anyone like back in the mid 2000s
So I don’t see it as a valued reason to not have any
I can understand not wanting face pics
Ok crop it draw over it blur it put a emoji over it
Tattoo blur or draw over them or keep them hidden
Like me
But looking at my pics you wouldn’t even realise I have any at all
But I do
I keep them hidden with extra things in pics
When I can’t Patch over them with skin next to them and turn the pic black and white so it can’t be noticed |

Perhaps you are lucky and not working in an industry that regards sex and lifestyle choices as being a reputational risk.
It will change long term, many under 25s have shared intimate pictures with a partner so once everyone has/is doing it the uniqueness and the risk diminishes. A bit like being gay 40 years ago. ![](/icons/rainbow.png) |

I get that but it's normally used as an excuse not to give a face photo. You can have photos on here that are not explicit, I do. |

I respect anyones reasons, the question is more aimed at employers/workplaces.
How does what fully legal activities adults do in their own time as consenting adults affect the 'professional standards' of a company or police force etc? Imo it dosent.
It is just further distorting work/life balance, they can contoroll you in work but oh yeah they also want to controll ones sexlife outside of work? Becuse they're so professional..? |

It is all about an image that is presented to those outside the company/workplace. Potential investors/inspections/public opinion etc.
It is still why in some places facial hair is discouraged or visible tattoos are a no go. |

It is BS. No question. Many areas of business are like it and not just the ones that have a formal evaluation process. The worst are the informal ones where there is no reason other than an individual boss has an agenda. Its part of the reason we absolutely don't mix Fab with any area IRL. UK is still quite a sexually repressed culture... |

Who claim patients and relatives can use it against you? And what is it exactly they are meant to use against you the fact that you have sex regularly and possibly with multiple partners. Yes most businesses have a responsible use of social media clauses however my sex life has nothing to do with my employer or if I choose to be on a completely legitimate platform. |

Parents can be very hypocritical in their attitudes towards the people who have the care of their little darlings on a daily basis. They can be shagging all and sundry, posting all sorts and being generally promiscuous but let their child's teacher show a stocking top on Facebook and they take up arms.
It's not so long ago that gay male teachers needed to conceal the fact. |

Google is my friend indeed. A woman claims to have been offered a pay out to leave to leave the force because she had an only fans account she was not actually sacked. I could only find one example of somebody who was sacked for working in a school as she was not a teacher but a teaching assistant and that was in 2016 and subsequently sued successfully for unfair dismissal. So actually not quite accurate what you put. You hear lots of anecdotally stories of people being sacked for having photos online or swinging but there is very little evidence to back that up. |

Your life can be made extremely difficult. Imagine teaching at secondary level and pupils somehow find photos of you on line or particularly straight laced governors or head teachers. It might not make the news or google but your authority over the pupils is compromised in the first instance and in the second your life could be made very difficult. |

Yes of course but that is unwarranted, I have worked in school and your authority can be compromised for many reasons if a parent decides to make your life difficult or child for that matter for any reason. Also I would be more concerned why a child in a school knew I was on a site like this. |

I agree that there are many reasons your authority can be compromised. There are 18 year olds in secondary schools and in FE.
I think it's wise to be aware that regardless of whether it's right or wrong there are certain activities that have the potential to jeopardise your career. It's rare that it happens but it does. Also local education authorities tend to keep a lot of stuff in house of they can |

It shouldn’t be an issue. If my colleagues and employers knew I was on here then it shouldn’t make any difference to the way they treat me, to my career progression and to the respect colleagues and patients have for me…
However, we all know it would.
It’s not just about being actually sacked, but it’s about positions being made untenable as well.

I think in the national defence/security domain it's frowned up on if there is a chance that you could be black-mail by criminal organisations or hostile States over your pictures/activities/membership. Granted not so much an issue if it's common knowledge your a massive deviant but very problematic if for example your cheating on your wife or expressing sexuality/kinks you want to keep a secret from others. Also I think the Military frown up on it in terms of bringing them into disrepute. After all the Red Tops do love a ranchy Military scandal when short of news. |

It's never as simple as saying anyone seeing your pics is also on the site.
A number of fabbers have been outed on social media by chatgroups for no reason other than they could.
A difference of opinion on the forums or refusing to meet someone often puts a target on someones back and their private details shared with family and friends which obviously then also has a knock-on effect on employment issues. |

Many organisations now with public facing working will have a online nudity clause in their contract, so it is a stackable offence especially in the caring/teaching profession & also a well known gym company have now introduced it since the influx of pt's appearing on only fans.
I couldnt give a diddly if my clients find me on here but for personal safety reasons i choose to keep them private (past experience) ![](/icons/rainbow.png) |

I work in a Social Work setting with vulnerable (although still dangerous) people who unfortunately search everything about you if they get access to any information. I can’t be having my face on sites involving sexual acts because…… well consequences could be severe. |

It should be an explicit freedom that adults generally have away from work, to be able to do what they wish with their bodies. Maybe a couple of exceptions.
In the meantime, we've not moved on enough from the Victorian era and people being owned. |

Ultimately you have no legal protection from being sacked/disciplined on the basis of your membership or association with “swinging” or similar. Even if you have no explicit photos, and nothing in your profile goes into lurid details about your needs, wants and desires, the very fact that you’re “a swinger” is enough for an employer to decide to get rid of your services.
All they have to do is argue any of the reasons already given - reputational harm, commercial harm, risk of adverse pressure (the word I would have used here is not allowed!), or even simply that it doesn’t match the image they want to portray.
The same used to be the case for being gay/bi. Thankfully there is now legal protection in the form of the Equality Act which makes sexual orientation a “protected characteristic”.
It’s unlawful to discriminate against me because I have sex with / am attracted to men. If an employer got rid of me for that reason, I’m pretty much guaranteed a win at an ET (if I can prove that this was the reason).
Swinging doesn’t have the same protection, hence people are quite sensible to be careful. |

I’m not sure how people can’t see how it could affect someone in their job! What about seeing your child’s headteacher for something important and you’ve seen them on fab naked with a cock in their mouth? Is that appropriate?
Top policeman/MPs etc. Do you not think someone would put them all over social media if they found these kind of pics? |

People that question other people about not showing their faces on a swingers site clearly aren’t in a job where it would be a problem.
That’s wonderful for you.
Congratulations.

I don’t think people realise how strict it is in some professions! I was child protection officer in a school one of my children went to at the time. I couldn’t even have any of her friends over without advising the school first! Imagine if one of the parents had found a vid or pic of me! There were meetings every week about social media etc and what we could and couldn’t do. And this was 10 years ago! |

"People that question other people about not showing their faces on a swingers site clearly aren’t in a job where it would be a problem.
That’s wonderful for you.
Congratulations.

People definitely don’t understand.
It’s alright saying you’re protected against unfair dismissals and it should be acceptable etc etc.
It should be acceptable to punch arseholes in the face… but it’s not.
It doesn’t matter what you think “should” be acceptable.
Certain lines of work are very different.
Some even search for you online, to see if you have an online footprint.
so the argument of “if they see you it means they’re on here too” doesn’t work.
What people should do, if they don’t understand it, is just be fucking quiet really.
Also my pictures are friends only so I can keep track of who exactly is masturbating over me.

People could still have photos. Just not with their face. No-one will recognise your arse...
"I can't have photos because of work" is pretty lazy when I see so many imaginative photos of bodies here. |

This
Totally understand the not having public face pics. |

We see this a lot.
We’ve managed to take plenty of pics without our face so see no reason why others can’t.
We suspect it’s more that people have much more to hide, as in, not just work.
If you are having to hide on here, then you wouldn’t be for us.

Oh yes definitely. I meant face pics. I wouldn’t even send a provocative pic privately with my face on. |

I'm careful to not send pics with my face and showing my body. Either but not both. |

Unfortunately not as black and white as that.
People have distinctive tattoos, features etc.
I get that some maybe hiding other things, I’ve picked up on that much from my time here but not everybody has a husband/wife/litter of kids to hide from.
I think it’s very naive of people to think that everybody is in the same boat when it comes to employment and pictures. |

I don't think everyone is in the same boat. Not at all. But tattoos can be blurred out etc. I've had men with just dick pics say they can't show anything else "because of work". I think that's pretty ridiculous and lazy. It's not hard to take photos where nothing is recognisable. |

I agree with that.
And there’s friends and private pics, attaching to a message there are very limited reasons for!!
You’re either fucking ugly or married.
Maybe a couple of other reasons.
But not having clear pics on profile I can completely understand. |

"What does ones personal sex life/interests have to do with ones work though?
Why would it be an issue or of any relevance to an employer?
Surely it's none of their business? And if a colleague saw a colleague here, well they're here too..
The only thing I can thing of is if you're working in the criminal justice system or something maybe due to conflicts.
As a social worker, bumping into clients on Fab, isn't fab.

"Ultimately you have no legal protection from being sacked/disciplined on the basis of your membership or association with “swinging” or similar.
They may not sack the person for being gay or a swinger but they can make life very difficult and 'let them go' for some other reason. |

Yes, our participation on here should be nobody else’s business. Indeed it is a part of our life that we keep private from friends, family and work colleagues. Now imagine being in a senior role at work, wanting obviously to keep this hobby a secret but somebody at work has found out that you’re on here. Not only that but maybe for their silence they make an implication that as long as they get a bit of overtime then nothing will be said. It does happen because some people are nasty and opportunistic so why put yourself in that position? |

Similar situation. Had to discipline and dismiss them. I send my face on first message, not on open view. |

Why compromise your future when it is easier not to?
Not knowing what opportunities may be on the horizon or what curveballs life might throw at you in the future should be a starting point for your decisions. |

"I think in the national defence/security domain it's frowned up on if there is a chance that you could be black-mail by criminal organisations or hostile States over your pictures/activities/membership. Granted not so much an issue if it's common knowledge your a massive deviant but very problematic if for example your cheating on your wife or expressing sexuality/kinks you want to keep a secret from others. Also I think the Military frown up on it in terms of bringing them into disrepute. After all the Red Tops do love a ranchy Military scandal when short of news."
Surly you would have to come clean ASAP rather than be black -mail quicker you react and bite the built they lose there there power but prevention is always better than cure |

Nothing is ever black and white. You can remove/blur anything on a pic now.
People choose to come on this site. If they then don’t want to display any pics for whatever reason is their prerogative.
How we view people who don’t display pics is our prerogative.

Judging by your use of the word “there” one could guess the reason why you consider the police corrupt
But of course that would be jumping to uneducated opinion |

It puzzles some. Usually those with a very naive world view.
No one gives a damn ...... until .....
e.g. You see your childs teacher here. Sex pest maybe. Potty mouth. Unusual sexual proclivities, a tad aggressive ?
Still happy ?
Same with say the carer who is looking after your Gran.... you note he has a Granny fetish .... ?
Still okay with that ?
You notice a really sexy young bloke who is a bit over the top with S and M...... he works with your daughter in the local supermarket. He asks her out .... bothered yet ?
Someone in the legal system who has to look upstanding in the community with a pics section of him being whipped while wearing latex man thong with a banana up his arse..... Tell me it wouldn't circulate.
Your local council members out dogging and splurging all in a bukkake ring...
Tell me it would stay 'unknown' ... |

"Police officer sacked for having OnlyFans account - bringing force in disrepute.
Teachers sacked for having pictures on modelling websites and others.
List goes on.. yes, I agree, it's non of their business. But if identified, could be used to gain an advantage over someone and professional standards could ne compromised.. they have their reasons and have to respect it.
Employers are not trying to control your sex life.
Employers are trying to minimise scandal, litigation, pain , suffering ...... yada yada....
They don't want to handle complaints or even enquiries or even dirty malicious gossip from people who have seen a teacher , police officer, doctor, office worker , etc etc etc ...... it also protects the employee. |
