A good pandemic and war every now and then helps sort that out a little.

I doubt you’ll be deployed, you’re good.

Isn't it a strange coincident Russia decided to have military exercises on Ukraine's border just as the Russian speaking separatists needed help fighting the Ukraine army?

Putin will soon find an unhappy Russian somewhere in Georgia and invade that next until the rest of the world gets dragged into the fight.

Sanctions have not stopped North Korea after many years; they have just made the people suffer and the despot more determined. Sanctions will not bother Russia one bit.

The world is overpopulated is a racist view. It means you’re heaping all the ills of the world on poorer nations. Rich westerners have helped screw up the climate.

Putins war won’t help except bring misery to free people everywhere.

"Why is it these slightly odd characters are in charge around the world?

Because nobody with any sense wants the job"

A very wise man once said

"Now, there's one thing you might have noticed I don't complain about: politicians. Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain't going to do any good; you're just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it's not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here... like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There's a nice campaign slogan for somebody: 'The Public Sucks. F*ck Hope"

Replace America with any other country and it still applies.

To be fair I got the reasoning at first. NATO is Russia’s biggest military threat.

If you invite Ukraine to be a part of NATO you park a missile defence system, that can easily be turned offensive, right on the Russian door step. I’d be pretty pissed off too.

Hell it happened in the 60’s. The US put a load of missiles in Turkey, so the USSR started putting missiles in Cuba.

But as it goes on… NATO countries aren’t willing to take Ukrainian membership off the table so the pissed off Russians seem to be trying anything they can to start a fight (short of direct invasion).

It’s like they’re trying to prove a point, but not prepared to tell anybody what point.

Agree, but actually don’t believe they want a fight but to force people round a table and discuss this fact and come to some sort of compromise. Russians feel threatened and Putin embarrassed about how much of old USSR is westernising and turning their back on the mother land as it were. They just want a geographical buffer between them and the west

If anyone finds that this happening just before the US mid term elections, whilst Fox news is praising Putin and Trump, a coincidence they need to wake up.

Germany would willingly give away Poland, France, Spain, Italy, etc. to Russia if it secured their gas supply.

This is not going to end well.

Its a matter of perspective, the world is over-populated, and over-population causes harm to everyone and everything, quality of life diminishes, more of the earth is sacrifice ld to meet demands, more animals die and are driven out of the habits with humans spreading out and needing more for consumption.

Yes war and disease are bad but theyre a necessary part of the cycle of life. Take those away and theres little stopping mankind from destroying everything in its insatiable hunger to consume and spread.

My Question is what will happen if the Ukrainians target russian troops inside Ukraine... How can it be an act of war... lol

Go Ukraine... If they end up fighting Russian troops then that gves Ukraine the legal right to attack the Russian fleet in Crimea too and bomb their facilities too... Not a good outcome for Russia now.

So much for Russian claims of Military exercises... Now the reality is out...

If all life should be given a chance then whats being done to help all living creatures on this planet excluding those that are human?

How many animals both on land and in the sea need to have their habitats destroyed so humans can keep consuming?

The whole "all life should be given a chance" argument falls flat on its face when many ideals that you uphold directly contradict that one belief. Society and mankind as a whole cannot continue the way it has been without violating its own beliefs for the sake of another that only benefits humanity and not the earth or all other creatures.

Who are you to judge who or what is worthy?"

Who am i to judge? I should ask you the same thing. Is human life more sacred than this planet we live on alongside all other creatures? Would you see this planet wither and die just to uphold the sanctity of human life?

But my views dont discriminate, yours do and they contradict themselves. You discriminate all other life on earth cos human life has more value to you.

And you keep saying i have a comfortable life.. so do you, and you couldnt give a damn about this planet or all other creatures while you get to live your comfortable life. But what if you werent loving comfortably? Food shortages from too much demand and too little the earth can provide, power cuts from the lack of fossil fuels and renewable energy not meeting demands. Will your life be comfortable then? Will your stance on human life being more sacred than this planet remain as it does now? Do you want your children and grandchildren to suffer even worse as a result of all that?

Or is it, it doesnt affect to you now so who cares? Not your problem cos youre living comfortably right now.

Who has the right to deny aid to a diseased or displaced child in the Yemen.

Oh it’s a necessary part of the cycle of life… said from a comfy untroubled perspective.

No contradiction here. Human life is sacred. Doctors don’t discriminate. Your views do. By not letting countries develop for their people whilst you live the full modern, safe life.

Who are you to judge who or what is worthy?

Argumentative confused bollocks. End of.

Manchester (she/her)

"Why is it these slightly odd characters are in charge around the world?

Because nobody with any sense wants the job

This is so true. Name one World leader of whom the general consensus is 'what a genuinely nice person..'

Jacinda Ardern

She licks Chinas arse though….

I'm not sure that excludes her from "genuinely nice person".

A genuinely nice person would keep Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong in mind "

So a tiny nation in the Asia Pacific should piss off China. That sounds very clever indeed

A genuinely nice person also needs to be mindful to their responsibilities. Ardern's responsibility is New Zealand.

"The world is overpopulated.

A good pandemic and war every now and then helps sort that out a little.

I doubt you’ll be deployed, you’re good.

Wow, so life holds little value to you then?

Its a matter of perspective, the world is over-populated, and over-population causes harm to everyone and everything, quality of life diminishes, more of the earth is sacrifice ld to meet demands, more animals die and are driven out of the habits with humans spreading out and needing more for consumption.

Yes war and disease are bad but theyre a necessary part of the cycle of life. Take those away and theres little stopping mankind from destroying everything in its insatiable hunger to consume and spread.

Whats more important to you? Saving every human life and upholding "human rights", or the health of this planet and our co-habitants?

You’re entitled to find whatever you like disgusting.

Thats the beauty of the human mind.

I find people that cheat on their wives disgusting.

See, I’m happy we both have our disgusts.

Let’s be pals.

Aung San Suu Kyi and Nelson Mandela spring to mind

Suu Kyi possibly but obviously not universally popular. Mandela was head of a recognised terrorist organisation.

Mandela was certainly a loved and respected leader not only on home soil but world wide, and both he and Aung San Suu Kyi were awarded the Noble Peace Prize

Aung San Suu Kyi doesn't seem as interested in the human rights of the Rohingya people. "

This is true and tarnished her reputation that was nothing other than glowing during the 90's and early 2000's. Seems so at odds with everything she stood for.

I’ll wait.
