We are on hols in the Lakes. We did the Coffin Route from Grasmere, over to Rydal Mount, down to Rydal water, around Rydal water, back to Grasmere. Tomorrow we are climbing instead xxxxx

Because it was "used in medieval times to carry the dead to the consecrated ground at St Oswalds in Grasmere for burial."
