Covid: Greek letters

Storms: male names one year, female the next.

Greek letters are not not being invented. If we ever get to Omega the variant will be called Omega, not made up nor selected from a list of words beginning with O.

The G is going to be Gladys

Then Herman, Imani, jack.

Hope we don’t get that far ... or get to Kim, Logan and meabh, although it would be fun hearing people mispronounce it.

I'd just call it a storm.

These names kind of annoy me. Yes I'm grumpy.

Apparently according to greek mythology, the god of storm was Aeolus and had a number of minor wind gods that were his subjects. There were each given a certain direction like North, South East etc. and they were Boreas(N), Zephyrous(W), Notus(S) and Eurus(E) and collectively were called Anemoi. The Romans called them Venti and they had a few more: Septentrio (N), Aquilo (NNE), Vulturnus (NE), Subsolanus (E), Eurus (SE), Euroauster (SSE), Austerulnotus (S), Euronotus (SSW), Affricus (SW), Ephirus (W), Eurus (NW), Circius (NNW).

No comments please as to why I had to find that. It's one of those days
