Only four years out of 5 and even then we are spoiled with one full day of summer. |

Voltaire was a bit of an oddball anyway. He probably only said that because he was french and reminiscent of the "Auld Alliance". The french establishment couldnt stand him so he was exiled to Britain, where he spent most of his days. He wasn't too keen on london I believe. |

He wasn't too keen on us either in actual fact! He was getting a dig in when he said this (this wasn't actually even what he said but it's grown into this quote). Imagine him rolling his eyes and whining 'oh look at Scotland, it thinks its soooo cool' - that's more what he was going for . I like that we just claimed it as a compliment anyway though, I imagine that'd really piss him off . |
