If you haven’t watched this and have no plans it’s a great watch. |

I just don’t understand how the first women managed to loan so much money. Applying for that much credit in such a short space of time mustn’t be easy.
It’s weird because it’s absolutely horrific what he did but you find yourself respecting him for how good he was at it. |

Didn't he create pretend to employ her and provide fake payslips so the bank thought she was on more than a million a year? |

That was to increase her credit limit with Amex but they were already aware of him which makes it even more unbelievable. He listed her as a director or something with a diamond company but it didn’t really explain how he did it. It’s completely surreal and I can’t believe stuff like this goes on in real life. |

I guess it's just because it's a huge bank, departments don't always communicate, the fraud department wouldn't check every one of the thousands of requests to change credit limits they probably get every day. And as long as the payslip looked official the credit department would have no reason not to raise the limit. |

Listening to Radio 4 this week there was an article about people being conned out of eye watering amounts of money. Most are or were on dating websites and fell for a number of sob stories.
One lady had sent over £100k to a chap in the Ukraine funded via her life savings, cards and loans. She has commenced proceedings against two banks indicating they should have stopped her. |

This guys about to host a dating show, has a book deal and is rumoured to be making a Hollywood movie.
He did it because they were greedy , they saw a potential lifestyle without having to work for it. They wanted it so bad they lost sense, I dint think he broke any laws, but they could be prosecuted for lying on credit applications, allowing others to use their cards etc
Greed is how all scams work , work from home make millions etc etc

I detailed a situation from 25 yrs ago in another thread recently that a family member was caught up in. I became suspicious because the woman that was scamming him was namedropping people she claimed to be involved in a number of land and property deals and unknown to her I knew most of them personally or through business connections.
Long story short she conned a solicitor, an estate agent and up to 20 different business owners in deals valued at £600k but no legal documents had been signed at that point so the actual amount lost was £70k.
I collected all the hard evidence I could and confronted her and her family only to be threatened with legal action because she had medical records backing up a nervous breakdown and mental health issues.
I passed the info to the police who discovered an even broader scam totalling £1 million and involving fake references to two multinational retailers, a bank manager and various others, none of whom were actually involved but had their names forged and used without their knowledge.
She was never charged with a thing because of her medical issues and 3 years later attempted to stand in a local election but her name was removed from the ballot following numerous complaints.
The figures were astonishing back then so I can only imagine what the equivalent would be today. |

"Google Richard Dexter Tinder Fraud.
Our very own version, who's actually been charged and is in prison for this."
Wasn’t this a Netflix one as well? Claimed he worked for MI6 or something like that. |

He defrauded a woman from Dubai. |

It's only happened in the last few months,, trial was end of last year. No one knew about him before and it's only blown up due to the actual Tinder swindler coming out at the same time. |

You’re not even legally allowed to miss payments on debts in Dubai so god knows what they’d do to someone ripping people off ![](/icons/s/eek.gif) |
