I have a shark anti hair wrap IZ300UKTDB (2022 black & rose gold) cordless model its great i do 6 bedroom carpets, stairs front snug carpets, 10mx15m kitchen diner tiled floor& hallway tiled floor on a full charge. It leaves hoover lines too!
I did have the older model which was 'ok' but took two charges. Then tried a dyson v15... that didnt get close enough to the skirting boards & charge wasnt great. |

"Please just get yourself a Miele and forget all other advice.
I have no idea if they do a cordless but they’re the best and I’ve tried ‘em all."
I have a cat & dog Miele, but also a V10 Cordless Dyson. I tend to use the Dyson more often as it’s just easier, but if I’m giving the place a deep clean the Miele is the best. |

"I recently bought a shark, and it's great! Can do the whole house in one go, stairs are much easier than with the old pull along hoover.
Great with pet and human hair."
I still have mains electric . My neighbours purchased a Dyson cordless a while back. Asked me to check as not working. Note I am retired , electrically trained. Found battery dead not charging. Could not work out how to replace . They contacted shop purchased from . To call out Dyson / replace battery approx. £200. So decided to buy Shark as battery separate etc. and better guaranty, although more expensive . They paid and have now a Shark. Shop had contacted Dyson and they sent engineer out . Yes battery U/S. After a phone call by engineer , no charge . But battery had one year guaranty and to replace again £200 plus call out etc.
Shark more expensive but as batteries can be replaced very easy etc . Cost effective ? |

"Expensive but are they any good? "
Mostly useless unless you’re talking about ease of hoovering or the car. Yes very expensive compared to a corded device. Our housekeeper thinks they are a complete waste of time. |

Do you have a link to the exact model, i need to upgrade from a Dyson corded to cordless and the shark sounds like it does the job |

I have had a Dyson one before, used regularly but had its faults, mostly battery related.
Changed to a shark and I really like it. Seems to pick up well and came with two batteries and a charging dock. So can easily do the whole house.
The anti hair wrap perhaps isn't as effective as they advertise, but super easy to clean in any case.
I also like how it folds away neatly. The hinge on the pipe means you can get under future easily.
Not sure why it has headlights, night try hovering in the dark one day |

Have recently bought a dyson v15 to clean up after a new puppy.
Really thought the laser thingie was pointless gimmick, is actually brill when cleaning hard floors.
Its convenient and very good clean.
Very impressed, so are my cleaners. They used their vacuum, then went round with this and it picked up lots more. |

The dyson dc07 is fucking awful. Tbh don't buy dyson, they're shite, they dumped Britain and have ridiculously underpaid staff working in their Asian factories. I don't know why they're held in such regard, bloody awful company with overpriced shit |

What puts me off the Dyson is I think you have to change the head to go from carpet to hard floor? |

FYI shark refurbish returned warrenty vacuums

Totally happy with my plug in one's, past experience have taught me that after a while they won't hold charge as well, become less powerful and run out before you have finished the task. I have 2 plug in dysons which will always keep their power and last until the end of the job. The only cordless gadget I have is a karcher window vac and already it's not as good as when I had it. |

Miele and sebo coded vacuums are used in the house are about 8 to 10 years old and still going strong. So neither have yet hard parts that have had to be scrapped. Both suck much better than those useless dyson rechargeables.
BTW - it was a general comment about the impact of non serviceable products with integrated batteries. Not aimed at you personally. I’ve no idea about or interest in your green credentials. |

You don’t to, the generic head works on both as well as any other vacuum with one head. But the hard floor head takes it up a notch. |
