Saw this thread , a huge help is what you eat tbh , there's no good in hitting the gym..the road or whatever if you're gonna eat all round you when you get home , you have to eat properly...l think anyway. |

Having being stuck at the same weight for AGES, I think I've finally cracked it. I'm down 4kg in 10 weeks. It's frustratingly slow but I guess that's the reality when you're so close to your target weight. |

Great news Lacey. Due to a medical condition, I've slowed down on my physical fitness routine so I'm creeping up the scales a bit.
Losing it slowly is the best way as it allows you to establish good eating and lifestyle behaviours that are enduring.
Keep going, you'll get there |

Following some brilliant advice from VirginiaGirl, my weight loss is slowly continuing - I'm down 16lbs from April and noticing the changes especially around my back and face. It's difficult right now because period time and the urge to eat my hormones is strong but I'm staying motivated by my daily countdowns for various things.
And also not beating myself up if I eat some chocolate.
I've begun dipping my toe back into the world of jogging, booked swimming for the weekend. I feel confident I can keep it up. Hopefully! |

That's a great effort. I fell off the healthy eating wagon a few weeks ago, and a few of the lbs I had lost returned, but started up again today - so always good to see others succeeding as inspiration. |

Brilliant work
Swimming yes but no jogging. It ruins the hips and knees. On anyone |

Got weighed today at my diabetic review and had a 5lb loss since the 1st of July
Couldn’t quite believe at as I’ve had four days all inclusive in Italy, my sisters graduation and a wedding since then. However I’ve still made sure I’ve hit my daily steps target every day |

"Who cares what you weigh, are you happy with how you look and feel."
I care what i weigh, i want to be more mobile and have more energy so i can keep up with my grandchildren. In recent years i have put on lots of weight due to emotional eating (having a lot of trouble within the family). |

Are you ready yet to try and do something about it? The eating or is still too hard? |

Yeah, what a thread to come in and say something like that. "
Thats the best weight loss advice, you dont want to loose weight you want to loose fat.
I know plenty of people whos bmi says overweight, but their fat percentage is within a healthy range.
A tap measure and photos, throw the scale in the bin.
And im not some skinny person saying this im overweight myself and trying to look and feel better about myself. |

Same for me, I want to lose weight as I don't carry that much fat for my size. |

"Who cares what you weigh, are you happy with how you look and feel.
Do you think we would be trying to lose weight if we were? I'm curious. "
I think that poster was trying to be positive and supportive with that statement.
Perhaps not realising that the pressure to lose weight doesn't always come from our own minds |

You're not trying to lose weight, your trying to lose fat. If you are exercising and reducing your calorie intake you may well increase weight and lose fat, you then think its not working and give up or reduce your calories too much causing your metabolism to come to a crashing halt and you will put weight and fat on and give up.
The best way to change your body composition is measurements and progress photos. |

I appreciate what you are saying, and what you're saying is quite true. Apart from those of us trying to lose water weight.
But your first post did not convey that message at all. Perhaps that's why the meaning came across wrong? |

I put weight on recently as had been unwell.
I went back to fasting. 5:2 with 500 cals on fast days, and the I’ve lost 3 1/2 lg in 5 weeks. Fasting is the quickest way to lose water weight, weight and has documented health benefits. |

I need to look more into that. Thank you
I tend to feel it's carbs that make me a sponge |

Went to SW this morning after missing two weeks because of a holiday in Italy. Alsohad my sisters graduation and a wedding in between
In Italy my diet was pretty carb heavy although made sure I had plenty of salad and fruit and still hit my daily steps target
When I got on the scales I’d only put on half a pound so was pleased with that |

I don’t eat many carbs, and it made going back to fasting much easier.
Happy to help if you wish |

Thank you, I'm trying to eat Keto style but don't always manage.
I've no carbs in the house, and I'm in hiding for 3 days with the heat so i'll see how I do.
I did a juice fast , not fruit but vegetables, and lost loads of water. But find making the juice is hard work. I bought it fresh frozen from a company that stopped doing it |

I’ve lost 3lbs on top of my other loss which has taken me down to my lowest weight for 10 years. I’m not actively dieting, just cut out pop/sugar and cooking from scratch - I don’t think I can eat bread (even brown) as it makes me feel really bloated.
Still a lot more weight to lose but I’ll just take each day as it comes, but better off than on. |
