After watching day after tomorrow got me thinking. What natural disaster will wipe out the world?
Flood
There's too much water, and its got to go somewhere. Sorry flat earthers it won't fall of the edge haha.
What will end the world?

Is there? Is there too much to cover the entire surface of the planet?
I don't think we've even been a total water planet. Would take a lot of earthquakes and seismic shifts to lower the land mass enough. I'm guessing, clearly not an expert lol |

Nah, the planet will die way before then. The sun will turn into a red giant way before it dies. The earth will just warmer and warmer, the atmosphere will boil away to leave a dead husk. |

It depends on what you mean by wipe out the planet really. The earth is a very big rock that would take a lot to physically destroy, so we are talking about a flat collision with something of comparable size.
Unless of course you mean life, in which case what are you counting as life? You could mean the natural world how we know it, in which case it really won't take much, just a slight shift in climate would do it.
All that fresh water entering the oceans will disrupt ocean currents which could potentially cause the oceans to stagnate. As macro organisms begin to die off, there will be an explosion of micro organisms that will have a feast, causing a release of yet more greenhouse gases like methane, CO2 and hydrogen sulphide. Hydrogen sulphide will be particularly nasty as it is toxic to most biological life, this will have an effect of creating dead zones on the coasts.
On land desertification will become common and wide spread, the heating up of the poles will cause the massive amounts of methane trapped in the permafrost to be released, thus hastening the warming effect. Weather will become incredibly unpredictable with high wind speeds and extreme storms occurring more readily. Forest fires will also become more widespread.
Life wont entirely die out, something will survive, I just couldnt say what.
I doubt we will see a cooling period, as the heating of the earth has been unprecedented compared to other natural effects on the climate. |

Yes, those are cycles but they didnt kill the planet. When the sun begins to run out of fuel it will expand and get much hotter for the earth. By this point it will be terminal. |

I think he's our best hope given Richard Burton isn't around any more and James Earl Jones is probably reluctant to come out of retirement! |
