Are you one of those that orders a triple-mocha latte-cino with an extra shot, hazelnut syrup and low fat soya milk?

Or a Tesco instant in a mug and 3 sugars sort of person?

I’m neither, I’ll have a cup of tea please.

How pretentious are you when it comes to your coffee order?

If I think they probably have crappy coffee I'll have a tea or a cola

If I think it's passable I'll have a latte, or perhaps a flat white if I think it's better than that

I'll have a filter (third wave style filter, not American cup of Joe type) if it's a speciality place and I expect it to knock my socks off.

I make filter for myself at home

I'll happily free pour Aldi instant coffee and sugar into a mug at home or in work...

But if I've paid £3-4 for a cup of coffee whilst out, I'll be grumpy if it is poorly made.

I usually order Latte as it isn't difficult in the scale of things but burn my milk and I'll silently judge you forever

I only have a double espresso in a coffeeshop. There is too much liquid in all the other drinks, someone them must have at least a pint of water or milk in them. But if I have enough time I might have 2 doubles.

I am probably a coffee snob. Friends of mine are coffee roasters. I learned to taste (“cupping” in the lingo) with them and helped develop espresso profiles with them. Not so much now. But I do spend quite a lot of money on coffee (beans). I make it at home. Decent grinder, reasonable espresso machine and very good filter machine, that does brew profiling. I get quite a lot out of it, it makes me happy *shrug*

I'm not sure what it makes me but I like to grind my beans, which is why I don't use the pod type of dispenser. I dislike the idea of being tied to what they offer only for their machine. I pour the beans into mine, press the button, it grinds it and voila! Fresh coffee.

Almost certainly not. In terms of coffee out and about, I almost always go to a chain place. Why? Because you can pretty much guarantee Starbucks or wherever is wheelchair accessible. Café Nero is variable on that front actually. I won't go to Costa anymore because they changed their soya milk and it's absolutely vile now.

I'd love to go to Papa Jim's Independent Coffee Place in the Northern Quarter in Manchester (or similar) but so many such places are simply not wheelchair accessible. Not only are they not wheelchair accessible, some of them can be rather rude if you phone up to even ASK about access.

If you don't want my disabled dollar, I'll give it to the faceless corporations, sorry *shrug*

At home, I make my own pseudo latte with microwaved lactose free milk and instant coffee (not the really cheap stuff, some Fair trade Sainsbury's stuff )

It's one of those things that people tend to hold quite strong views on. Even coffee lovers have a hierarchy, at the bottom are people who use coffee shop chains and at the top people who only drink beans grown on the southern slopes of a mythical island, harvested by monks, roasted by temple virgins and brewed with holy water.

For espresso shots, from which all good coffee is made, ground beans have a texture a lot like flour, it's very fine.

Tamping is the process of depressing it all together before extracting the espresso in a coffee machine.

Only drink black coffee, Nespresso at home but when out it’s Caffè Nero or Starbucks (or independent coffee roasters).

I’ll leave it if it’s Costa Coffee, not a fan!

"Are you one of those that orders a triple-mocha latte-cino with an extra shot, hazelnut syrup and low fat soya milk?

Or a Tesco instant in a mug and 3 sugars sort of person?

I’m neither, I’ll have a cup of tea please.

How pretentious are you when it comes to your coffee order? kinda

I only order black coffee, but I grind and mix my own and my Brother roasts his own beans so I'm at a stage now where store bought coffee to go is mostly muck.

A Grind her and a Roast her. You two brothers would clean up on fab! "

I might drop the shocker and invite him here,, but I might get disowned lol

"How pretentious am I? I have a Roaster!"

That's my next step, any recommendations?

Fairly snobby, i'll always accept a cup of tea at someone else's house, instead of taking the risk of being given a cup of crappy instant. Have a bean to cup machine at home. Although on the bleary eyed mornings, when it needs the tray emptied, water topping up, and beans refilling all at once, I wish we just stuck to instant.

Prefer fresh over instant. With either full fat cow juice or just black.

I've got a stove top coffee maker which I use everyday for my work flask and a small single shot French press for ease at home if I just want one coffee.

I'll buy a decent coffee from a supermarket but only if it's on offer. If I'm feeling flush I'll buy a bag of the house blend of the local Italian cafe.

I don't spends £000s of pounds on equipment or silly amounts on a rare/exclusive coffee.

But I do enjoy a brew and a bacon butty on a Sunday morning watching match of the day.
