Would someone’s first name put you off

I was being shown a picture of a friends cousin and she was very attractive but he told me her name was Senga and it totally put me right off.

Ladies, is there any name you avoid? Nigel, Boris etc …

Lads, would Daphne or Shaza float your boat?

Why would that out you off? The only conclusion I can even contemplate is it doesn’t sound very British, which leads to all sorts of other generally unPC thoughts. (Not saying this applies to you obvs, just it’s the only reason I can think of)

Fab names put me off more than someone's real name if they are vulgar

No, a person's real name wouldn't put me off them. However, I am put off by vulgar and crude profile names.

Exactly this!

You get to choose your own profile name so a super vulgar name is gonna put you in the highly unlikely category before I even look at the profile!

I get where you are coming from with Senga, is it just a west coast name? When I was younger, a lot younger, there were a few women and girls that were called Senga, let's just say they were very frightening. I'd say I have associated the name with something negative much like many people will do with the name boris. I never us a capital B for his name as he doesn't deserve it.

There are 24 profiles on here with DangerMouse in their name. Only 1 is a couple profile, the rest, strangely are guys. So there it is, I’ll never have sex with a DangerMouse…

Oh I forgot about my son's names. Feck. It's getting to be quite a few plus boris (good point Davie he doesn't deserve a capital letter - the plank).

I have found that I can’t talk to anyone on here with the same name as my late husband. Too strange.

Also my younger brother, but that’s quite an unusual name so has only come up once in three years+ on here.

I was engaged to someone who has the same name as my brother. It never bothered me. There are some names that make me cringe but it’s not the persons fault so I’d probably avoid using their full name or give them a nickname. I do give most people nicknames anyway. Like branding them as mine - just joking

Profile names and real names likely put me off.

FYI Senga is a name based on Agnes backwards and has nothing to do with any prejudice. It’s just a fickin’ god awful name.

Senga is a Scottish name meaning slender. Nothing to do with Agnes backwards. Agnes is a Greek name meaning chaste

Maybe do but her mother was called Agnes and she called her that for the reason I gave.

abruzzo Italy (and UK)

People very rarely have chosen their own name, it’s no reflection on who they are as a person, if I really hated the name for some reason I would just find a cool nickname for them that they liked, but it certainly wouldn’t put me off having sex with them

There are a few that might yes. Some that would indicate a person is too young for me and a few names of ex bosses etc that I just could not deal with trying to be romantic/sexy with.
