I couldn’t believe they couldn’t give him a larger sentence. I guess although it was fraud, the women gave him the money willingly at the time and the credit card fraud was all in the ladies names.
Still, what a horrible bastard and the fact he now has a luxurious lifestyle selling “business management advice” is shocking too. |

A fool and their money are easily parted
These women invested in the idea that a billionaire on a dating app was going to give them the life they wanted. I don’t think they were totally innocent in this. Would they have even replied had he not been living the life style of a billionaire?

I completely agree with this, I do feel sorry for them as it’s clearly going to take some years to recover financially but it was about them gaining a certain life style in the long run, that one who was his friend borrowed him 40k if I remember correctly and he did a fake transaction for 100k in return she never said nooo wait that’s to much just give me the money you owe me friend, she thought she’d hit the jackpot. I definitely think they are victims and he should of spent years behind bars for what he’s done but they’re aren’t completely blameless and must see that themselves. |

"Is this not just gold diggers getting their fingers burnt ?" Potentially yes. Though I'm not a fan of direct victim blaming and it's unfair to call it gold digging.
They saw a good looking guy, swiped on him and got a match, turns out he just so happened to be rich (which of course was a con in the end).
I'm pretty sure one of the women went on a single date with him, and decided it wouldn't work out. She did however continue contact with him as "close" friends. Meeting up with him as friends and while he was on dates with other women etc. As a friend she got fooled by his con too. She was not being a gold digger but enjoyed his charm and company as a friend.
There are clearly red flags and hindsights of woulda coulda shoulda. I can't say I really have sympathy for them, but it's unfair to stamp a conclusion as gold diggers got burnt. |
