One thing that your ex gave you that you still have

A fantastic poster in a weird non-standard size, so it's still in a tube in a wardrobe 8 years on.
My favourite ex gave me an external hard drive full of music and kindle books and films, and I download music off that to play in my car on a constant basis. I bought him an inflatable vibrating buttplug and I'm not sure he got the same amount of use out of that. We were in very different places when it came to gifts. |

The house and most of its contents.
Had to pay for my share of the equity but contents never got factored in.
I did a lot better than most men do. Having no children and both being in work helped keep it simple. |

Emotional damage
Trust issues
A deep seated fear my boundaries won’t be respected.
A sense of relief that he’s not here
On the plus side, two marvellous kids |

She gave me both fond and excruciating memories but the fond ones far out number the excruciating ones!
And whilst there were moments that she broke me down and created doubt in me as a person she certainly did more to make me understand that I am a decent individual….a good dad….and I have a lot of love to give the right person….so I would say she gave me a brilliant sense of self-worth, two amazing children and a life long best friend!! |

It would certainly seem pretty much all of us got very much the same things - kids, debt and unhappiness etc. I'm sure I'm not alone in getting on better with the ex now that we can breath out and have no animosity against her, just at the situation where my fun years were wasted being miserable. She left her Dyson surprisingly, and took some unusual things I wasn't expecting her to take! |

I got that too ... ex took the pizza cutter even though he was intolerant to gluten (typically in a pizza) |

I was that guy that returned every gift, every card, letter, photo, everything, in a big box left on her doorstep. I have nothing but memories, and I’d love to recycle those too. |

"Tinnitus
Pardon?"
It’s a condition to do with your brain ‘hearing’ sounds that aren’t there. Whilst my ex didn’t give me tinnitus; stress and caffeine can exacerbate it.
My answer was going to be a white leather laptop bag; too good to throw away.
