Mammy's boy or a daddy's girl?

Are you or were you a mammy's boy or a daddy's girl? Maybe it was a grandparent or sibling you adored. I was a daddy's girl always trying to spend time with him when I was younger. Even though he won't admit think hubby's still a mammy's boy lol.

I was a great favourite with my grandad as a nipper, he used to take me to the races and put a bob or two on any horses I liked the looks of.

Sadly he died when I was 6 or 7 so my memories of him are very hazy but I absolutely adored him.

Neither really. Possibly too independent for a child. I was closer to my dad than my mum but my brother was the golden child.

My dad was an alcoholic, which made me super independent and in control of myself, my actions + my feelings at all times.. I learnt disappointment the very hard way.. It also made me resolute in my decision, even as a child, to not want to replicate my genes. I used to dream about maybe one day finding out i was adopted

i guess in turn, this effectively closed out my mum as well

Definitely 150% a Daddy’s girl! God , poor fucker. Retrospectively speaking, I was quite spoilt and very much like Veruca Salt from Charlie and the chocolate factory

Getting my wicked ways

Wasn’t a fan of my mum as she was a lot stricter….

Neither really and my grandparents weren't affectionate either.I guess it worked out well enough and I was pretty independent from a young age.

I'm estranged from my parents, can't stand either of them. Was never really a focal point of any aunts, grandpatents ect. Being a twin, it was always double the cost. So center of attention was cousin Claire, and her birthday was boxing day. They didn't want her birthday over shadowed by Christmas. So she always had a super duper out of the park party.

I wouldn't use the phrase "daddy's girl" I was never that even as a child but my father and I have always got along. We share a sense of humour and we "get" each other. We're very close and he now relies on me for emotional support

Neither really, and only had one Nan, who lived miles away. I would have loved a grandad, my dad is a completely different person with my son!

Grandparents are very different often. It's as if they are relieved of the responsibility of parenting while having an opportunity to make up for any mistakes.

I'm not sure, I respect both my parents and think I loved them equally for different reasons. My Mum was caring and supportive and happy to let me live my life. My Dad was the disciplinarian but when he told me how he grew up, I admired the hell out of his work ethic and wanted to replicate it but was also loving in ensuring I wanted for nothing growing up.

I love them both and genuinely don't think I could choose one over the other

I was my grandads girl. I remember fondly watching James Bond and War documentaries with him. He taught me to change a tire too.

I was the "son" my dad didn't have, he taught me basic car maintenance, to drive and we used to go out for beer and a pint

Daddy’s girl. He was very young when I was born, and would apparently sit by my cot for hours checking I was still breathing. Bless him. All his mates were probably out on the piss!

My mother described it as a love affair from the minute I was born

He went away for work when I was very little. I didn’t cope and he had to come back home
