Don’t think it is
More main stream than ever
Not odd anymore to go out to a regular night club and see a woman sporting a latex skirt or dress
Maybe catsuits and stuff have yet to catch up but skirts and dress or leggings aren’t that out off the ordnery any more |

A fair few less ‘enlightened’ folks often mistake wet look fabrics or pvc for latex. Don’t be fooled - real rubber (when shined appropriately ) is VERY different from shiny high street leggings! As for it being taboo - maybe invest in some for yourself & perhaps you’ll learn why … |

Thanks in part to so many 'celebs' wearing it on nights out etc...
Versace and YSL have both had latex collections this season. |

I might be less of a kink than rubber, leather or lace, but that doesn't make it "taboo"."
It's nothing like Spandex... Latex is rubber |

It really is nothing like spandex. It’s also very restrictive and doesn’t behave like spandex. Very different |

I'll say it louder for those in the back shall I...
Latex is rubber... Rubber is latex
Latex is now used commonly in the fashion industry and is nowhere near as taboo as it used to be, I wear it on 'normal' nights out all the time |

Just stop now. Please...
Latex is not super stretchy, nor is it overly used in film or theatrical costuming... Plenty of things can look like or appear to be of a latex consistency without actually being latex...
Latex as a material as a small amount of give but is mostly restrictive, it's also exceptionally fragile and prone to tears and rips easily |

Was going to pic it up till I seen the price tag
Higher than normal latex as it had a adidas printed it to it |

Of course latex is processed to make clothing, you can't just get it as liquid out of the tree and slap it on someone.
But when it comes to theatrical costuming, I know my beans, it was my living for 20 years after all |

"And it is still used in the movies."
Given you keep quoting marvel... Here is an interview with the award winning costume designer for CNN...
https://edition.cnn.com/style/article/avengers-endgame-costumes-judianna-makovsky/index.html
I point you to the part that says...
The fabrics are often not the real thing, she explained, for mobility and ease of use: "People think we're using leather or spandex. Often most of the costumes are made with a stretch cotton that we can dye and we can print on and give it a texture. Make it look like Kevlar; make it look like something else." |

Because you said latex was like Spandex (it isn't)
You said it's used in movie costumes like marvel (it isn't)
You said it wasn't taboo but rubber was (they are literally the same thing)
On more than one post I've commented on how latex isn't taboo... You just kept doubling down on misinformation about latex |

--Look I said latex was common stretchy clothing like spandex - don't be so pedantic.. that's a classic case of received pedantry by you. I did say unlike "rubber, leather, lace" yes (and I own items in all of those) but I was obviously referring specifically to fetish wear - which tends to be referred to as 'rubber' the fetish world (ie as opposed to the more mainstream clothes).
It is used in some of those Marvel costumes, as it was in Batman ones previously. And it is used in condoms - it's clearly processed and the term 'latex' is often used as such.
Sorry but you are being super-pedantic and I don't appreciate being told to "stop" like I'm seriously misinforming people about shit! I'm not. It's not A) important or B) any kind of serious misinformation on my behalf! |

If it's a contact allergy yes, if it's anaphylaxis unfortunately not. I would be so sad if I had that. |

Me too... Although interestingly I have a mild latex allergy, but very specific, I can't use latex (condoms, toys etc) anally... Which makes my latex fuck doll fantasy a bit of an issue |

That is interesting. It's funny how allergies can be specific to certain areas. Similarly my ears are allergic to nickel and silver but nowhere else is. |

Gloves are one of the few latex items I buy the cheaper version of because they're so easily broken. Even if you manage to be super careful getting them on and off, just through using your hands you can get little nicks in them that lead to tears as soon as they're stretched. |

Latex isn't taboo anymore, it's mainstream fashion, House of CB had a latex dress range 5 years ago and PVC and Latex are now normal materials to see used in high street fashion.
I enjoy wearing latex outfits, not to the point of wearing down the shops yet though!
