On men.
Someone I am looking at has a series of pics of him in a variety of thongs.
Which suggests he wears them frequently.
He is otherwise very appealing.
Is my gut reaction against men in thongs something I should try to get. over?

If you like him then I would just forget the thongs. We all wear things that others don't like but if he has the confidence to wear them and he likes them then that's all good. It seems like you find him attractive so go for it and have a great time and don't let a piece of flimsy material come between you.
And at least its not a zip up cardigan  |
