Real man and real woman

Does anyone else hate those terms. For me looking at womens profiles I sometimes see the phrase “I’m a real woman I’ve got curves I’m not stick thin”
Instead of being proud of being curvy they put down women who are slim instead.
Then I also see such things as “I want a real man” then offer reasons as to what makes a guy a real man such as chest hair, bulging muscles, head hair, tall or other such things that are out of a persons control.
I’m sure guys must write similar things on their profiles but I don’t look at male profiles so don’t feally know.
Stop putting other people down to make yourself seem better, or to cover your own insecurities!
Most of us are here for the same reasons, aren’t we all on the same team? |

Absolutely.
As mentioned (at length) in other threads, there’s no simple definition of either “man” or “woman” (but I really don’t want to pick that scab again).
When used in the way you describe they’re so often attached to toxic versions of masculinity, or regressive, objectifying and infantilising concepts of femininity.

Hear, hear have to agree. I'm average to say the least and bald to boot, but I do have a stunning wife. No botox or fake boobs and yes she's had three kids. But saying that we do find couples and single women not interested because of me.. like someone else on the forum said we all here for the same reason so why are people so damn picky... |

This really annoys me when I get told I'm a real woman...  all women are real women... I used to be stick thin, used to be bigger than I am now. I'm still me.
Putting other people down to pay me a compliment just reflects badly on the other person |

I don't think most people use it in a malicious way. The world around us is so edited and air brushed, they are talking about the side we don't see, reality. |

Haha I see this all the time instant 'turn off' & usually block. The audacity of it to type I want a 'real man or woman' when the person themselves got 'fake lashes, hair, lips, bum, tits' etc |

The term is less of the issue and the follow up, as the OP said, of ending it with what is essentially an insult in the form of a statement. More often than not is aimed at those who are different, from themselves as if to make their own pov more valid.
If you need to put down somebody else's physical appearance to boast your own, then you have already lost any respect I may have shown you on that subject. |

I've come across those (perplexing) terms. I wouldn't say I hate them because I simply do not understand them.
It's the "looking for genuine meats" (sic) that always throw me. Perhaps I'm in the wrong Deli Counter.  |

Why not be picky though? If you want sex why not aim for the super model characters out there, instead of average Joe (sorry Joe). Go big or go home.
You may never achieve that, but "settling" is never a good thing either. |

Yes, my original post was not going into people being picky or not. It was aimed at people insulting others to essentially compliment themselves.
Using derogatory terms unnecessarily against people who look a certain way or have a certain body type. Eg Hating on a slim person, when maybe they actually don’t even like being slim but their metabolism makes it difficult to put on weight |

Ive seen it said so many times on the forums, usually on a curvy woman appreciation thread! I usually just laugh and take my non real woman’s ass elsewhere instead ! Clearly nothing bad is meant by those saying it, but it does make me giggle! Miss pc |
