My dishwasher!

I inherited it when I moved in, a slimline integrated IKEA thing.

It fills up, heats up, does the spinny thing and drains but just bleeps at me constantly and wont go further.

Manual doesn't tell me anything.

Worth getting fixed or cheaper to buy new?

Is there any flashing lights or like 3 beeps

Type the model number in to google with the tag line at the end service manual

You find it in pdf forum

Skip the the faults page

At it tell you 3 beeps means xxxx fault

For example on a some washing machine

One red light two green lights flashing means pump not working

Not an easy answer really. Depends who repairs them in your area and what it costs. It also depends on how much new ones cost that will fit the integrated slimline space you described as some of those more niche machines may cost more than the average ones. I recently had mine replaced as it was going to cost quite a bit to repair and as I had it for many years I decided that was the best option. I buy all my white goods from a local shop as the service is amazing and if there is an issue after they install it they will pop out promptly to sort it out. They also try to price match as best as they can.

I was just about to say the same thing. Type " problem with dishwasher & type the model number into Google".

probably the best way to find what’s wrong without needing someone to come in a look

Also op ones found what sed fault is

Type model number and say it’s the pump

Ie model 265x pump and you will find the replacement part then wight up the cost off buying part and have someone fit it against a new one

And make a judgment on if it’s worth the hassle or just getting a new one

I’m just confused by it refusing to go further when you described a full wash cycle. Are you expecting it to empty itself?

It fills up, heats up, starts the cycle, drains but then constantly beeps and doesn't go any further, just keeps draining and beeping.

Stuff is not clean when I want to kill it because of the sodding bleeping. Dishes are hot, water is gone but still dirty with a partially dissolved tablet at the bottom.

Eh ok, blocked drain? Can’t drain or can’t drain fast enough? Shove some dishwasher and drain cleaner and run an empty cycle, clear the filters, see if owt changes

Oh I've also run it empty and with a cleaner (it came out barely touched).

I had a kind of similar problem with my dishwasher. There was a blockage down the line. I just went step by step instruction from YouTube how to get to it. Was fixed in 2 hours. Was absolutely proud of myself

Have you tried a different wash cycle? If you have the option for a cooler wash, try that and see if the same thing happens

By the time you get someone out to look at it and possibly repair it, it is still an old machine, money down the drain. You got it free so be thankful, its possibly gone wrongs before that's why it's still there.

Sell it on e Bay for a few pence, let someone else lug it away

From what I can tell, it's about 18 months old.

In the year I've been here, the white goods and the cooker have failed and the previous owner who worked for the estate agent who sold it and still works there, won't even acknowledge my requests for manuals or receipts!

Probably cheaper to get a new one, then it's under guarantee for the next few years.

If there's no blockage or broken parts then it may be the module board. They're not expensive.

Easy enough to replace.

The last thing I can think of is most dishwashers have a tray to catch any water overflow under the dishwasher. You can usually move a front panel and expose it, if there is water in there and it is to high or you have leak it will open a valve and empty the dishwasher to stop it flooding the kitchen.

Other than that kick it like another poster said

Hi Topsy,

Quite often continuous bleping is caused by water in the bottom of the washer.

Unplug the washer - below the door there may be a removable plate where you can get in and dry out the water there.

When I say removable there are screws on each side.

Takes about 20 minutes and Bob's your uncle.

Your filter is most likely clogged,

Take it out soak it in chemical and vinegar over night,

Take a wire and go poke round down the drain line, run a cycle in an empty machine, add drain block run another cycle, then refit your filters after cleaning them. If that fails, call an appliance tech, far cheaper than a new one.
