Most counters will have test bottles behind them, they will spray it onto a card for you to minimise the level of people touching the bottle. I bought Lancôme La Vie est belle at the weekend and they done this with a few I was trying out xx |

I don't like it being sprayed on a card. It could smell very different on my skin |

Go to a proper perfume shop and get a perfume made for you...you will love the experience and you will love the perfume..  |

True but if you don’t know what fragrance you want to buy you could end up not being able to differentiate from the multiple smells on your skin when trying several, seems this is the way they are doing it due to covid. Thankfully I love this one on me, but I know what you mean x |

I recently bought some from Penhaligons after they gave me four little spray samples to take away and try.
It's really unusual for me to like a perfume on my skin, so I couldn't buy one from a spray on those cardboard sticks. I always need to live with it on my skin for a few hours. |

Really interesting comments here. I was in Boots recently and they were happy to spray both cards and me.
Some perfumes smell strange on me so my tried-and-tested process is a few on cards at each visit and then go back later for a skin test of the favourite. I always leave for a few hours before buying - sometimes I have to wash it off as soon as I get home.
Tip: if you have no coffee beans to sniff.inbetween fragrances, sniff your clothes you're wearing for a few minutes. It 'resets' your nose a little.
Perfume recommendation: it really depends what you like but my go-to is Escentric Molecules Molecule 01. It's the one I get compliments on and people stopping me to ask what it is.

If you can't get to the shops to try out the testers then have a look online on sites like eBay for perfume samples joblots and you can get loads to try out. |
