I tend to go for a strong french roast. My favourite places for coffee are Sumatra and Java. Strong bitter chocolate and spice flavours. Mmm yummy. I'm also partial to Peruvian and Mexican grown coffee. |

I’m currently loving a bean from a small grower in China. It’s called Dongka.
Imported by a friend of mine who sells micro lot coffees from around the world. |

What is Chinese coffee like? I’ve never tried it |

I tend to like a lighter taste when it's coffee only such as Brazil, Colombia.
However, I tend to have a latte with a strong shot of espresso.
I'm not terribly loyal to a brand but my default would be Illy. |

"Sat here having a coffee and bacon roll got me thinking what brands and strength do you like?
I like Colombian beans or Jamaican blue mountain coffee beans. I grind and make fresh coffee daily "
I tried Jamaican blue and didn't like it. Found it in tkmaxx. |

I get ground coffee from a local roaster. Currently have a bag of a Nepal blend and a bag of a Brazil blend.
I had a Guatemalan blend from 200 Degrees in Nottingham which was quite nice too |

"Whatever happened to bastard offspring of Marmite & Brent Crude that was CAMP coffee...
Did it get cancelled?"
You can still get it but it isn't real coffee and it never has been. It's mostly chicory extract with a very small amount of dried coffee in it. It was developed because making coffee in the mid Victorian times was still expensive and a faff. |

I still use Camp when making Coffee & Walnut cakes. Would never drink the stuff though. |

I'm not convinced that Camp could make nice coffee & walnut cakes. Please send 2 dozen for evaluation. |

This thread has me embarking on an online journey to find some interesting and unusual coffees. I'm thinking I may try some Thai coffee or Nepalese even. It's amazing, and exciting, what's out there. |

It’s a really nice brew. I was pleasantly surprised given China being more well known for its teas.

We parked up our espresso maker so I haven't bought beans for a while. I used to like a whole range of them and liked trying new ones.
We moved to using our Nespresso machine ( I know, no hate please) and my favourite everyday pod is their Ristretto. The decaf version is actually nicer and stronger tasting. No idea how they do that.
If I have to have instant, there's only one that I'll use: Nescafe espresso powder. I reckon it's the same as the old powdered they used to sell, the one that came in a jar as normal or those industrial-sized tins you'd see at work. |
