Hit an age or time in your life where you started thinking about your future and what you want to do with your life going forward?
For example furthering yourself with new career opportunities, wanting a complete new change in life, facing new challenges or trying new experiences you have always wanted to achieve?

Yes early 30s i made the change to be home at night rather than working away.
However now im really ready for a next stage in my life which is something that quite difficult to get, which is leaving a lost feeling ![](/icons/rainbow.png) |

I'm 25 and thinking about changing my career completely but not sure yet.
I enjoy my job, it's flexible and it's WFH but it can get very stressful and it's always there. The new job would be almost double my current wage but shift work, early mornings and out the house.
I've been in the same career for just over 8 years now.
So I reckon a whole shift in my future is on the horizon. |

When I hit 30 I felt like I was at a crossroads and wanted to push myself so started to invest in property doing most of the work myself and haven’t looked back, wish I done it sooner ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

Yup, two yrs ago I stepped down from brain-shredding management position (utter corporate bullshit), started reading more & listening to music rather than watching TV or doom scrolling on the phone; walks in the morning, etc, focused on learning & feeling & having time to do both. Best thing I've ever done. |

Just recently, been in my place of work for 11 years and only person in a higher position is the MD.
Was due a big pay rise at the start of April 2020 then bang, covid hits and we go into lockdown just a week before it. Perfect excuse not to give the pay rise, then same excuse in 2021 and already going to be the same this year. Finally told him I’m leaving.
I haven’t even found a new job yet, but picking up certifications to completely change career to something I’m probably more suited for passion wise. Never done something this drastic before while having a mortgage etc to still pay for.
This has to work. |

I have always been very driven in my career: not ambitious but I lived to work and was always thirsting after the next challenge.
In my late 30s I had a great FWB who was a slacker. He worked the minimum possible hours to cover his bills, was very happy staying in the same role and had no intention of ever looking for promotion.
As I approached 40 I did find myself reconsidering my priorities and wondering which of us was getting it more "right". I built a life outside work and tried to find more balance.
I took a less stressful job last year and although I'm finding the lack of pressure to be stressful I'm trying to just calm down and wind down. I don't want to be away from home three days out of five, flying to America twice in one week. I'm too old and too tired for that crap now! |

"Yes, fucked it up every time.. "
I did this nearly 20 years ago and I'm thinking about it again. This time it's likely to be retirement but with a sideline to keep me occupied as I would need something to make me get up in the morning. |
