After fairly recently being able to get back to work from 10 days isolating, I was enjoying getting back into a routine. On Monday I went to move a bench that had some dumbbells on (we use this to prop against a fence that's not too stable) and in what seemed lime slow motion a 12kg dumbbell fell on to the toe next to my big toe on my left foot  with no footwear on I might add. Cleaned and dressed it the best I could, with the view to get seen to next day...
Next day, trip to a&e. Compound fracture at end of toe, crushed nail that had lifted the nail bed upwards and open wound
I must be the clumsiest person on here! Any of you lovely fabbers got some self inflicted injuries, or is it just me?   |

Always bashing my head. But the daftest was a pile of scuba cylinders that rolled out of the van onto my sandled foot when I opened the door. Might of broken my toe might not have, didn't go to a+e as I figured they wouldn't do anything anyway - did lose the nail though  |

Put a tuna can in the bin at work
End of the night emptying the bins i pulled up the bin bag and the top from the tuna can went through my finger somehow cutting it to the bone |

Put my hand into a machine that had a very long rundown time. I thought it had stopped, but it hadn’t.
They managed to reattach half my thumb with K wires and a lot of stitching.
11 years later it still doesn’t work properly and gets very painful in cold weather. |

I've to see what the toe is like like in 4 weeks.. it's been stitched to make it look as normal as can be. |

Not a proper injury but we had a sunflower with a very large head maybe 8 or so years back. The flower died but the weight pulled the whole plant sideways. It was ugly so I was going to get rid of it. I cut the head off and the stem immediately tried to spring upright - but my nose was in the way. My husband still laughs about it  |

I smash my arms and knuckles going through doorways in the chair all the time.
I broke my shoulder falling off a horse, which many would describe as "self inflicted".
I fell out of my wheelchair recently (fucking uneven pavements ) but didn't even tear my tights this time. Bashed my knee a bit. Hilarious to see the reactions of bystanders though. When I fell out in Spain, I really bashed the back of my head but managed not to actually cause any damage (that I'm aware of!) |

Once I was building a new fence and needed to remove several 4 x 4 wooden fence posts. One was exceptionally stubborn so me being me thought I'm big and can just rock it back and forth as you do to loosen it. Getting it moving I was determined to get it out so put all of my 17 and half stone prop forward build into it...
Changing position I instead of pushing...put my hands around it and pulled... at the moment the prop forward build beat the wooden post and it snapped, I realised pulling a four by four at face level wasn't the best idea... smashed me across the nose, breaking it blood all over me flat on my back rolling about in agony...

I once sliced my hand open when I had plunged a knife into a turnip to cut up for a horse, it was wedged tight and as I pulled it out managed to slice my hand at the same time. Went straight into shock, I was found sat with a knife in one hand and blood pouring out of the other. When asked if I was ok I simply said “Blood” looked liked there’s been a massacre |

I used to be known as Miss Accident Prone. 
A certain ward in hospital knew me by name… and I also recognised certain members of the A/E team…. Most accidents were horse related |

Not my brightest moment I'll admit. Definitely up there with the time I slipped down some stairs Can't get strong pain relief till tomorrow, but I'll manage. |

Yeah I'm taking paracetamol and ibuprofen for now.
Struggling to do nothing, been pottering about all restless and stuff.

Yes I’m very clumsy I was walking back to my bedroom in the middle of the night from the loo and stood on an up turned sowing needle which was stuck in my carpet and it snapped of in my foot ended up having major surgery to retrieve it from my foot as it had traveled to the centre of my foot another time stepped down of a stool while retrieving something up high in my kitchen and stepped down on to a folded up plastic pasting tackle and sliced open the whole side of my foot on a sticky out bit of plastic ended up with 10 stitches and many more incidents I’m very clumsy I also broke 3 toes falling down the last 4 steps on my stairs |

I jumped out of a trailer a year ago and my willyboot got caught i hit the deck like a sack of spuds. Turns out i dislocated my knee tore all the ligaments and knicked the artery fun times lol still not over the fact they cut my willyboots. I loved them |

Whilst crossing the A303 for a walk to the fields, my dog stepped in front of me and I face palmed the road falling over him. My life flashed before me but I managed to get up still holding his lead. I walked 3 miles with a fractured shoulder. I never crossed that road again as lucky I wasn't killed. |

Not exactly self inflicted, but many years ago, was doing an indoor net (cricket). Managed to chop a ball onto the toe of my boot. Somewhat painful, but carried on. Took boot off afterwards..... a bloody sock!
A&E next day, crush fracture to tip of big toe. Had to drill through the nail to relieve the swelling. Was a bit painful!!! |

Forever injuring myself, usually but not always, at work. Squashed my left thumb with a spanner last night and it was one of those ones where I was a little reluctant to take my glove off as I wasn't sure what was going to greet me inside lol. Thankfully just a bruised thumbnail |

One of the most stupid things I heard of (business wise) was a man who lost a finger in a metal working factory. H&E Inspector turned up to investigate. Asked the foreman what had happened. Foreman demonstrated by putting his finger into the inspection hole on a working, turret press. Oooops, he lost his finger as well!
H&E Inspector promptly took the machine out of use!!!! |
