The infuser that I use wouldn't work for that (too small, not enough room for the water to circulate as much as it needs to with herbal teas), but I have a small glass pot with a mesh infuser that works better.
If I'm making herbal or fruit teas I tend to just chuck it straight into the pot and pour through a strainer into my cup (I'm very lazy with this stuff!). |

I personally don't drink herbal tea but I've been to a few fancy tea places and they serve all their teas in teapots with built in infusers. You can also get ones you put directly in the cup though. I've also seen glass mugs where the infuser is attached to a lid for it. |

Yes, there are lots of different types. Quick on line search and you find one you like. There is the option of the little strainer with a chain you can keep in your cup/mug as you said you like to keep the bag in. |
