oh alright then, just for you, here's the constructive bit...
from mobiletoday website, reported earlier... (also reported on zdnet)
"O2 has been hit by network problems again with O2 customers across the country complaining that they cannot access the network today.
The company has apologised to what it estimates to be 10% of its 23 million customers affected by the outage, which it says it will have fixed this afternoon (12 October).
The problems come just three months after O2 faced outages in July when 7.6 million customers were hit by the operator’s 24-hour service disruption.
An O2 spokesman told Mobile this latest problem was not confined to a specific region and that the operator was investigating the cause of the problem.

Yep it's down in sunny Northumberland. Mine gave up the ghost about 3pm. I have a Galaxy S but my mate who has an iphone still had service.
Looks like it's the same fault that they had a couple of months back where some phones were affected and others weren't.
I know one thing for sure, o2 has slipped down in my estimation. They were a super mobile company but combined with their piss poor slow internet and their second major system failure in a couple of months, I think I'll be looking to terminate the contract soon ... |

My direct debit is now cancelled and 2 new mobiles are being delivered on a different network.
I'll argue with o2 later about how I've broken my contract ...... |
