They are trying to make it a bit more family oriented; there's a local councillor who has taken it upon himself to blame the woes of Twickenham and Richmond on the May Bank Holiday piss up while watching a bit of Rugby. Besides the fact that local businesses take more in that weekend than the majority of the international matches combined.
There was rumour of it moving to Wales; which would be awesome, but nothing has come of it.
I make a weekend of it with my unit I went on Ops with and we try to meet every year; covid has killed the spirit a bit and 2022 might not be such a great turnout.
Some great outfits and top lads and lads on it for the weekend. Don't go alone, hook up with some mates and get yourself there. |
