No, not the ones in your head

Other peoples.

So, you're exchanging messages for a bit, getting to know eachother. And when you finally meet, their voice or accent puts you off?

Example... I was very excited to meet a guy, very attractive etc then when it finally happened his voice was so camp, it was a total put off

Ball gag sprang to mind

Anyone else had this?

Yeah it's annoying but I always try to ask for a voice note just so I can hear their voice but it's nice when they have a nicer voice than you expected

That's unfortunate. I wonder if I would have the same effect on another.

Someone on here actually got me into voice notes.

I use them for around 50% of all my comms now , with everyone, work, friends, family, fabbers so by the time I meet someone on here I know their voice very well !

Never really thought about it. We know some people have been expecting Geordie accents and have been disappointed not to get one from us.

I can’t say a voice has put me off. However I dread that first phone/video call as it’s the only time I’m conscious of my weird lispy deaf voice.

I'm sure my accent has probably put some off! A few have noticed that I dont have a local accent.

Erm... I've had it before where their voice/accent has been a bit of a disappointment because it doesn't match what I think it will be in my head.

I do get what you mean though OP. My voice and accent are very marmite - it either makes someone's teeth itch or they think it's a delight. So mine has probably had that effect.

Accent is one of my biggest turn ons, so if it didn't do it for me it probably would put me off.

Oh yes, it can turn me off entirely. I've even been creeped out entirely.

No, I tend to meet Scottish men or Essex men.

My knickers burst in flames and my minge burns with desire

Luckily I've never had this yet... yes it would be a thing I'd try to avoid, overly feminine or high note voices would not arouse me

Honestly, voices for the most part don't put me off, so long as I'm not constantly having to ask what was said, or it's not a load of absolute shite being verbally projected at me.

Yes I can do easily be put off by someone’s voice. One of the reasons I prefer a phone call prior to meeting as we get to hear what we sound like and also breaks the ice a little.

Had it the other way round...not in a sexual setting though.

Bought a car abroad 25 years ago. I only had phone contact with the dealer.

This guy had THE sexiest voice I have EVER heard to this day. I was expecting a hunk of a man handing over my new car...boy, was I DISAPPOINTED - with the dealer, not the car

Definitely, someone's voice is an important part of the attraction.
