Teenage years, I was a complete card shark. The mother that taught me and the younger sibling I have taught absolutely thrashed me tonight. I hold my head in shame but I'll get them back some other time.

Do you have a favourite card/board game? Chase the ace, monopoly, cluedo etc.

I don't play cards that often anymore, husband thinks I cheat so he refuses to play. (pretty petty but y'know, I'm not playing with someone who will complain each time they lose )

It's similar to rummicub where you have to lay out sets/runs on the table but with a few different rules included.

I've never played rummi. Usually played 500 in pairs. Whoever rolled higher chose trumps.

Was still playing 9 card brag (3hands in one) until pre covid with the old boys(70s/80s) in the local each week - a quid for the person on each round if you could win all three hands - good times

I play chase the ace and kings for coolers with family but I play black jack and poker online or real Time for cash as I love cards games.

I love board games but I’m not allowed to be banker in monopoly because ‘apparently’ I cheat … that’s hearsay’s I tell ya .

Anything from connect four to snakes and ladders and I even love online gaming to

We had a game back in the day that sounds very similar, it was called Scabby Queen. Three of the queen's were taken out. When you had a pair of anything you could get rid of them.

With ours, all the cards were distributed and whoever had the Ace of Spades put it in the middle and everyone has to put a card of the same suit down and that was put to one side. We keep going and if someone didn't have a card of the same suit, they put any card down and whoever had the highest value card had to pick them up. That's how you get rid of your cards and fuck someone else over

A world all of his own

Was taught 3 card brag when I was younger, along with cribbage, rummy and trumps.

Haven't played 3 card brag in years though, we used to play it for coppers but my dad invariably won though.

My great aunt taught me that one; called it ‘beggar my neighbour’ as the suit cards would hammer you if you got the Ace!

I’m good at air hockey as a fellow fabber recently learnt to his misfortune and I’m good at Connect 4 (there’s a system!) I do like monopoly and scrabble but don’t get to play it often. Recently dug out ‘cards against humanity’ which is perfect when playing with dirty minded dark souls that are on fab!!

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

I was addicted to card playing in high school. My chinese and vietnamese friends taught me to shuffle and deal like a pro. Still turns heads today when I do it

Deuces was the game we most played. It was a variation of Poker played by 3 or 4 people max. First to get rid of their cards would win. We could form any of the poker hands if we could with part of the deck randomly dealt to us. Spades were the most powerful if a single, two cards or hands were placed by the players. Hearts were second, then followed by clubs and lastly diamonds. Everyone would have to follow what the leader put down; pair, single card, full hand(full house, flush, royal flush etc). If someone else played something no one could top, they would have initiative to place something new in game for others to best. Very addictive with a large amount of strategy Good times!

Crash was a game we played a lot (variation of 10 card brag).

Crib is my game of choice now…it’s a thinking strategy game especially if playing in pairs.
