Found an article on how to throw a pity party. Seemed a good way to process the feeling and then let it go.

Every now and then a pity party is ok but some folk seem to be perpetually feeling sorry for themselves. How do you support folk like that?

Also on a light hearted note does one have jaffa cakes at a pity party?

I think at a pity party to be safe I’d try to source vegan Jaffa cakes if they exist.

I'd have jaffa cakes at mine. Not sure the president would.

If you provide cheese and wine and no one stays longer than ten minutes, then it's a Pity Gathering. Not a party.

A party with Jaffa cakes?

Everyone feeling sorry for themselves will now be feeling jolly so they don’t have to go.

We had one woman in our group of friends who was always on a downer. Everything about her life was a drama and she had a shit life, according to her.

On nights out she would constantly ask me if I'm ok, and do I want to go home.

She cried in a pub restaurant once because I and another friend were talking about something that happened in our past and she felt excluded, and then told us she hadn't had sex for 10 years.

We gave her some drinks to cheer her up.

What if someone shoves a cake under your nose and sings happy birthday to you?

You should shove your face in the cake, get a massive gob full and then burst into tears and splatter the surrounding criminals with cake/tears/snot/pity.

Now it's a Pity Party. Pity the ones who are on the receiving end

What on earth is a pity party? Who would go to something called that? I think I'd pass.

Now please excuse me. I'm off to my weekly doom and gloom friends group.
