Basically I met this girl on a site and wanted to video chat with me which I did she was naked and asked me to get naked which I did.

But when I went off she somehow got my Facebook profile and told me to pay 500 or she will share our video with all my family..

Any suggestions please

Report her on the site, retain the messages as evidence, block her and report her to the Police. Don't reply to her messages.

1) Pay the £500. REJECT

2) Ignore them. REJECT

3) Remind them blackm*il and posting lewd material without consent is a serious criminal offence and that you will have no hesitation in reporting them directly to the Police. APPROVED

Oh, and keep ALL communication as evidence, they will be able to trace IP addresses etc

Report her to the site that it was on and make sure you screen shot the messages then go to

The police .

Did she give you proof that she's found your social media? Or is she just blagging? Personally I wouldn't take it as a serious threat but if you're concerned I guess the only thing you can do it contact the police online/101? Or tell her you'll contact the police? Some cases it might diffuse the situation but could also make it worse

Are you really that bothered if your family see you naked? Yes. it'll be embarrassing for a while, but they, and you will forget. Pay her and it will never go away.

Simple op call they bluff tell them go ahead like I care I have nothing to be ashamed about

Watch them disper and the video will not be shared they praying on fear

Ones you take that away there’s nothing they can do simple as

What’s the worst that happens they get a video ok you be the butt end off a couple off jokes for a week or two but not like we not all done it

What’s the problem?

Internet sex type stuff is common ground these days.

Your family will get over it.

Tell her to do her worst.

But possibly warn your nan first!

Check and see if your current Facebook privacy settings allow non-friends to see your friends list. If they can't see your posts or friends you have nothing to worry about. Then report to the police

I'd go with calling their bluff too. If you were just two consenting adults getting naked, they haven't got anything to shame you for.

Whilst this advice is given with the best intention, I would counter this by saying DON’T say go ahead, as that’s giving her consent to post the material. Whatever you do DO NOT make a record of your consent to her posting this material anywhere, you’ll literally torpedo any potential criminal case against them!

Thus has happened to a friend of mine...if you do pay, do you think they will just dissappear? They will get as much money out of you as possible...my friend paid them thousands until he eventually went to the police. Go to the police!

Absolutely horrendous, I’ve actually heard of this before it was in the news if you Google it, they use the screen shot to scan for images online to find your profile so definitely check your privacy settings, don’t pay and report to the police mate.

Report to police!

Sextortion is a crime. Paying her off won't stop her from asking money again. At some point, you will have to go to police.

Instead, do it now. You can call the police. If you find that uncomfortable, there are police websites which specifically let you report online scams and sextortion issues.

You've said they provided proof, since that's the case I would just tell them they don't have permission to share pictures of you and that them doing so will result in you following through with the police to the full extent of the law as black-mail is a serious offense, as is sharing nude pictures of people without consent.

This is a scam by a gang, it happens all over the world unfortunately. Don't pay as they will continue to extort money from you. There is absolutely no shame in this... it happens THOUSANDS of men! You were born naked and its nothing new. Don't be disheartened! It will pass eventually

I had a similar experience with a guy who black mailed me. Said that he would report me to my work and show them some pictures. I was very worried but then called their bluff. I was also collecting evidence to go to the police but he vanished. Messaged me again a few months later pretending nothing had happened. I obviously blocked and reported him. Again.

What part is bothering you the most?

You have your face and cock visible on a public site for thousands to see anyway.

If that's what your scared someone may see and your family may be shown. That could happen off the back of this profile anyway if someone else sees it regardless.

As it says above don't reply and report them, and maybe hide your public pictures to private for a while.

Not the only way..the above replies have taken time to give good advice that I'd listen to if I were in your shoes.

I'd imagine she is a serial scammer and this is likely not the first time she's done it. I'd take the screenshots as evidence, ignore her as she's likely after a reaction (as well as money of course) and report to the police.

It's illegal what she's doing but if you start getting a hacker involved then I imagine you'd get in trouble for that too...

Maybe not the best choice off words

But you probably find a criminal case being hard to bring

With these types off scams you will find the person dose not live it the uk and used a vpn to trick websites and stuff in to thinking they in the uk by setting they vpn to the uk so a criminal case is pretty pointless yes concat the cops but I don’t think much will be done

At least you can always say you contact them to try and scare them off

1. Set your fb privacy settings higher.

2. Block and report the person doing it.

3. Pop the kettle on, and have a cuppa.

They're after your money, not your dignity. They won't do anything if you don't pay, it's an empty threat.

Don't panic, don't play ball, and don't think anymore about it

I work in computers and have some knowledge about security/hacking. But I would like to point out that you can't just target someone and hack them whenever you want. That's not how it works. Unfortunately, movies have made it look like hacking someone is like eating cake. Unless that person fundamentally stupid or you are the government, there is no way you can hack into some random person's account.

Just go to the police!!

Sadly all you can do is block, report and send warnings to people she'll send it to. As much as it's a crime it's to easy to get around these things, likely a scammer with a burner account abroad using a VPN so impossible to track down.

But if you have evidence of her intention to do that where is the issue? The sooner you report it and show them everything the sooner you can clear your name should they act upon it which is highly unlikely.

The advice you have is to keep the messages. They will be time stamped, and IP logged (even if they’re using a VPN). So it will be easy to prove it wasn’t you sending to anyone inappropriate. And if they DO do that, (send to minors) they’re opening themselves up to a whole new world of shit that they don’t want to get involved with! The type of shit that will probably get themselves maimed in prison!

Close the Fakebook account, and report to Police if you’re genuinely worried.

And don’t wait to close Fakebook. Do it NOW.

If you’re not genuinely worried and just want some drama on the Fab Forum, just carry on as you are …
