got quite a collection of various kitchen knives going on in the drawer.

Everything from cleavers down to little knives and loads of duplicate ones.

So time to have a clearout, trouble is, I have no idea of the best way to get rid of them safely, is there a place at the local tip?? do I take them to the police station?? Ideas welcome.

Thanks in advance

Police stations should have a big sharps bin, or the metal bank at a recycling centre, but they can be a hazard to workers there.

Dubai & Nottingham

I fixed a big rectangular magnet on the kitchen wall and stuck all the knives to it , much easier

I would say the police station is your best bet as they will dispose of them correctly.

I honestly think it is the safest option. At least you can have peace of mind that they won't fall into the wrong hands.

Especially given they have your finger prints all over them.

In the west.

Could you cut them up with a hacksaw and take them to your council recycling depot and put them the metal skip.

"Scrap metal point at a recycling centre"

This is the only choice as the police don't handle them properly and recycling is better.

Shocked. You’ve only had sensible advice. And no one suggested getting yourself an artistic cutting fetish.

See if a local scrap metal man will take them? Saves you a trip anywhere.
