How to make the perfect cup of tea....

Jump to: Newest in thread

Following on from the scone thread...

How do you achieve the perfect cuppa?

Me.. milk first, then bag, then sugar, once all ingredients in the mug, add boiling water. Brew to your prefered strength, remove bag and supp.

The secret is adding the milk first as the hot water heats it as its brewing.

Sugar, tea bag, water, milk, and then the crucial touch, put the tea bag on a tablespoon and squeeze the teaspoon onto it like chopsticks, it'll give your tea much more flavour.

Omg you can't add milk first

Makes for the worst cuppa ever!

We don't have sugar but if I was making it for someone who does sugar last!

We prefer tea leaves and a teapot.

1/ boil kettle

2/ rinse teapot through with hot water

3/ add tea leaves

4/ pour in boiling water

5/ let it brew for at least 5 minutes

6/pour

7/add milk

8/ sugar if required

9/ enjoy!

If using a tea bag

1/ boil kettle

2/ place tea bag in a cup (has to be china)

3/ pour boiling water into the cup

4/ leave to brew for approximately 3 mins

5/ squeeze tea bag with tea spoon

6/ add milk

7/ add sugar if required

8/ enjoy!

in the night garden

High altitude tea is best.

The pot must be poured from a minimum of half a meter above the cup.

Or it's simply not British!

Merseyside

My goodness, my granny would turn in her grave if she were reading this thread.

Tea should be made in a pot not a cup, the pot should be warmed first before the tea goes in. Then you almost caress the pot as you place the tea cosy over the pot. And then stand back for a little while so that it may brew. Only then on pouring do you add anything else.

And to do otherwise, she considered would be a hanging offence lol! !
