I like Starbucks for the Eggnog latte but their coffee is nicer than Costa by far anyway.
Costa used to be good but they have been taken over many times since and now use the worst and cheapest ingredients since Coca-Cola took over.

We used to go to Starbucks a lot years ago but their blend changed and even their first blends weren't always reliable. We used to avoid Costa because their coffee made us nauseous but they must have changed their blend too because it's ok now.
When we drink coffee out, which we do frequently we use independents as far as possible but it's a lottery when it comes to decent, hot, fresh brews.

Yeah, I only get it once in a while and would rather find good coffee to brew at home. Not many independent places I can find that do coffee beans around here though |

We have a local that roasts its own beans and does amazing coffee. Mostly we buy there and make at home.
A hates the chains' coffee. My taste buds aren't as refined, and if I want a change of scenery, Cafe Nero's the place - can't while away the whole day at an independent. |

I can't tell the difference. They both give you half a cup of froth.
I actually prefer the one here at work. The cappuccino and latte are lovely. Its also free. |

Wouldn't entertain any coffee bar, at those absorbent prices, was a coffeeholic years ago ended up detrimental to my health, was advised medically to cease, took a while though and went back to tea and I'm OK with it, still wouldn't go in a coffee bar for that either, rather go home and do blk tea 2 sugars and a splash of lemon, bliss x |

Never been in a Starbucks and only a few times in a Costa. I will usually seek out an independant coffee shop.
When at home, which is most of the time, I use a cafetiere or a Mokka pot as the mood takes me. |

Nice little independent coffee shops usually but Costa otherwise. Starbucks not for me. I used to like Nero but so many of their places look quite tatty to me and not done up for ages. It really depends on the individual shop and not necessarily the chain. Drive throughs are good and were so particularly during lockdown. |
