Hey all. I have an idea for a song I'm trying to write about billy the kid. Any experts on the subject here? I know it's a long shot, but I have a specific idea. I know most facts are disputed, but looking for someone with knowledge.

I know a lot about him, but need more information or things I didn't know. Genuine replies only please. Thanks

It was indeed governor lew Wallace. He had been the one who had offered a $500 reward for the capture of billy. Billy agreed with lew that he would be captured and give testimony in return for a full pardon. The governor went back on his word and left billy in jail, leading him to escape yet again. Billy went on to eventually be hunted down and killed by pay garrett, whereas governor Wallace went on to write Ben hur
