I had to learn the violin at school. Hated it. My best mate got to play the drums (they allocated us instruments in the first year of secondary school) so I was very jealous.
I couldn’t play it now. It’s been over 30 years since I picked one up, and I’ve never been one to learn any others since.
But I bet you crazy Fabsters are very musical.
What can you play? |

I loved violin! And piano. The former I started having lessons for from a very young age and really enjoyed it. So yes, I can play both, violin to a far higher standard. I've not picked it up for a few months, kind of lost the motivation to. I might do tomorrow after reading this thread. |

do it! I’m not sure I’d carry on with the violin but I do regret not carrying on with any instruments at all. Mrs Fox’s Bit Of Rough is quite a wonder on the piano and I’m kind of envious I have no talent at all! |

I was 1st cornet in the school band, and like everyone else who went to school in the 80's, can play the recorder, the xylophone, glockenspiel, triangle, and tap away on the bongo's. |

I can get a tune out of most things... even if it's just the tones on the chip & pin machine.
I am primarily a drummer, but play guitar, piano, bass, and a bit of sax.

I can play any instrument you give me.
Not sure anyone would want to listen to the cacophony but I can play them.
I’m the words of Eric Morcombe,
‘ I’m playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order’ |

I love piano music - I've even got her ladyship to fall in love with a few pieces. I like the violin too but think it is far less forgiving so needs a good player to sound nice.

"Recorders, piano, clarinet flute but my main instrument is the oboe, it means I have very flexible lips and great breath control too which can come in handy sometimes....."

"Guitar, but nowhere near as well as I should be able to. Haven’t played in about 14 years, either."
Same here. It’s finding the time too. Plus I don’t own any anymore. Keep thinking of buying again and sitting down playing when I’m alone. I used to just get lost in playing certain tracks |

I play guitar and a bit of bass occasionally, either with a pick or finger style. Happy to demonstrate my finger style technique for any women if interested |

"I had organ lessons as a child. I can still play a bit but only ever enjoyed playing the tune. I couldn't be faffed with the chords. Also play the flute. But never went to band camp "

Same as OP I was forced onto the violin, but then swapped it for drums when I was 14. Still playing them now, though thankfully for my neighbours on an electric set now.
Can knock out some 90's power chords on guitar and "The Chain" on bass. Enough for a soundcheck!
Spend more time behind the mixer these days, prefer being out of the li_elight. |
