signing birthday cards for colleagues

I've draw a line with signing birthday / congratulations card for colleagues. If i don't get to speak at least once a month it's unlikely i'll sign, only exception would be retirement.

What's everyone else do?

Will sign the card but only put in for a collection if I actually speak to them. Not tight but with all the charity stuff we do it costs a bleeding fortune to go to work

"always happy to put my hand in my pocket"

Must admit we have so many, I only do it if I know them well

I've never mixed worklife with anything other than work related stuff. I've never been to works' xmas do's and I've never contributed to colleague's leaving kitties etc. Have to work with the miserable buggers all year round so I'll be damned if I'm gonna socialise with them too. Or put into a kitty for someone I don't like.

That's all in the past now though as I have my own little business and it's just me. Lovely.
