So I was tidying up the loft and I found my old Rubik’s cube. I set myself the task of learning and remembering all of the algorithms to solve it and, after 3 days I can finally say that I can do it.
Who else can complete one? What other pointless things have you mastered? Answers on a postcard…. |

I can do it. 14 hours flight followed by 4 hours wait in A&E was plenty of time to figure out what moves move which pieces in what way to allow to solve it. |

I learnt as a kid - pop the cover off the centre piece on three sides, loosen the screws, all the bits come out, rebuild, tighten screws and pop covers on.

"There's a vid on YouTube called 0.38 Rubik Cube in which a robot solves the cube in roughly one third of a second. You just see a blur - amazing. "
My nephew who has aspergers can complete it in a minute after watching a YouTube video and remembering how it was done. |

That's impressive. My friend's son has aspergers and is into Dr Who. He can recite any episode ever verbatim. Astounding. |

My brother in law can do a standard cube in about 15 seconds. He also has a huge collection of 4x4, 5x5, pyramid, dodecahedronal etc ones that he also can complete.
He works in TV and has a lot of waiting around time ?? |

Controversial opinion klaxon : I used to be in awe of those that could complete one in minutes, but basically it’s just a memory test of the method isn’t it? Once you know the method and have learned it I guess it’s no different to riding a bike, you just repeat the same process?
Or am I being unfair?
For the record… I’ve never completed one! |
