Predominantly premature prediction.

We arranged a home workshop for rope back in September and it was awesome. Still find it kinda daunting how much there is to learn, but the results are amazing.

Oh wow, that sounds like fun! I've only just started learning - ie only got the ropes on Monday . For the front view aesthetics I find it pretty easy but it gets difficult at the back when you can't see completly. Need to try and get Mr more involved once I know what I'm doing

I am interested in what people find exciting about this. It can look good, but not my thing. So, can anyone explain ?

I'm not completely sure. But lots of different things I presume:- consentual control, the actual act of tying or being tied, the pressure, the aesthetics. I've found the act of tying incredibly relaxing. I'm sure someone can give a better answer though.

It means many things to different people

We use it to bond and sensually explore our relationship, his ultimate trust in me to have control over him being fully restrained. Plus it looks awesome

The aesthetics don't interest me although MrsAT looks amazeballs. It's a sensuous experience being tied. The snaking of the rope over your skin, the increasing pressure if you move, the smell of hemp or jute, someone else so close to you and threading rope around your body. And the constriction of course - stretching to find your movement curtailed.

Have you checked out the self tie instructors on you tube, many just cross over at points on the back so you are not fiddling with knots and it's obviously safer, have a great journey with it x

Oh wow, yeah I definitely can't do self tying really at all. That being said we were told that one of the easiest ways to learn the basic ties is on your own leg.

Wish we'd followed up on it a bit more since then. We did all sorts of stuff like frog ties, chest harnesses and and simple crotch tie.

I've watched a few different ones on YouTube, I don't knot at the back, just crossovers like you say. I can imagine having to ask my husband for help to untie

Hah, I think to he honest I'd leave C to struggle for a bit

Safely of course!

What rope did you get? Have you looked into treating / dying it?

I've just got cotton from LH for now. I do want to use hemp but that'll be once I've learnt how to do ties without correcting it constantly

It is what you want it to be.

Sadistic / sensual

Fast / slow

Control / submission

Ground ties / suspension

Lots enjoy the constrictive nature, it can feel comforting.

Some enjoy incorporating it into predicament bondage. They make good bed restraints.

Some just enjoy a bit of tie and tease. You don’t have to follow a particular style or do a specific tie, you can just sit there with your partner in your arms and engage in a sensual activity.

The best way to start to appreciate rope from the outside is to watch or get involved.

But always remember safety.

Yeah we bought a load of hemp rope. A few friends have got the dreaded coconut rope, which is pretty brutal.

To be honest my main ambition is to be able to tie a wand to C's clit, because I've never really found using belts to be all that good, but once we started doing a few ties C wanted to dig into it more.

Usually prefer to use a silk based rope as it's softer and less likely to cause irritation, down side is it's way more pricey than hemp based and not as forgiving in storage.

I arranged to meet a couple at abfabs a few years ago purely to be tied by him.

He was really experienced and it felt so good. Drew quite a crowd.

He tied me and his much younger lady to each other too.

I even went outside in my "outdoor Crocs" to pick up dog poo. Best do it in style.

Must have been very chilly if you were wearing your usual pink croc outfit
