On the social workers in south derbyshire.. 
As some know, my sis has been battling cancer for 10 years and its taken its toll bigtime.
She has spent the last 3 weeks in the ozzy after a big op but they cant do anything more. 
So.....
She has been told she now go home re thursday but will have to spend her time permenantly UPSTAIRS. as they wont give her a stair lift.
She is terminal. they know this and she knows this and yet they wont help.
So guess who is going in all guns blazing. yup....ME. and god help them.  |

the occupational therapist is the one who would assess need before leaving hospital......pretty sad if your social services are skint and the budget has gone for the year.....such is the times.....cos i would see no other reason for them refusing. i wish you every bit of luck as this funding is for a very worth while cause

Best wishes to both of you...the getting in touch with your MP is a really good idea...and the local councillors too......but it ain't the social workers themselves that are to blame...they have absolutly no control at all over the budgets....part of the problem will be the time of year...the budget will have already been used up...but keep the pressure up...because it's amazing they way that money can be found from somewhere. good luck. |
