I read somewhere once that the majority of Americans live within a 50 mile radius from where they were born. Its starting to look like we are the same!!! |

I'm 1000s of miles away. I was born and raised in Arkansas USA and moved to UK when I was 25. I'm quite happy.
Benz is probably 100 miles from where he was born. |

I am similar, I have moved home nearly 20 times in 25 years. In that time have lived in London, Paris, Bath, Bristol, Cornwall and Devon!!! |

I was born in London, moved to Scunthorpe when I was 1 day old. Apparently I wasn't supposed to be born on holiday!
Now I live in Southend, so about 40 miles from where I was born, and 200 miles away from where I call home. |

About 4 miles
I have never lived more than 25 miles from my birthplace.
I guess I am a homeboy at heart.
Even when I go on holiday, after 3/4 days I am ready to come home.
New places captivate me, but they never capture me.

4.3 miles! And the weirdest thing was that, although I moved from that address in 1981, I could still rattle off the postcode so I could check it in GoogleMaps!!!! And I haven't even had to quote that postcode to anyone in nearly 30 years!!!!! Cue Twilight Zone intro.... doo dee doo doo, doo dee doo doo.... you know the rest.....

Born in Norwich now in Manchester think that's about 180 miles, all I know is it's a bloody long drive!! I go home every few weeks so never gone long enough to miss the place. Don't think I'd ever move back though, I love the city and the kids are proper lil northeners now! Lol |

Born in Halifax, moved to Doncaster when I was 2yrs old. Moved away to West Yorkshire for work when I was 21. Then lived all over the place from North of Scotland to Berlin to Dutch/German borderto Northern Ireland to Belize and a couple of other English bases when I was in the Forces. Lived in London when I finished in the Forces, now living in South Essex (for now!!), about 200 miles from Doncaster, which I regard as my home town.
BUT after all this time I've still got my Yorkshire accent and extremely proud of it. You know what they say - you can take the boy out of Yorkshire but you can't take Yorkshire out of the boy!! |

Not with the world on our doorstep! The Brits are famous for striking out to pastures new. You can hardly travel anywhere without bumping into an ex pat somewhere. |

I was once waiting with my missus for a Greyhound bus in Flagstaff, Arizona when a young woman asked us where we were from. We told her Chadwell Heath in Essex - she said that's amazing, she was from Gant's Hill.......about 2 miles away!!!! |

Its interesting, seems most people live hundreds of miles from their birthplace, or right on the doorstep. I thought more people would have moved away, because of work and greater mobility nowadays |

I love living in Leeds, but my hometown of Middlesbrough is always special to me and I still have a northeastern accent rather than broad yorkshire! |

"Sounds like Bumkin and Stylo are closest and furthest!
Could have been closer if he had taken his lappy into the next bedroom "
Possibly but I`m not able to run on my battery ATM and I`m hard wired to the router but I can always go into the bedroom next door and shout if that`s OK. |
