Are you a rule breaker or a rule abider
Jump to: Newest in thread
Ooh what a conundrum.
I have in my life broken some fundamental moral rules and possibly will again, but on the whole I abide by the rules, although that’s probably for fear of retribution for transgressions.
Although when it comes to skipping a poster in the ‘stick your dangle berries in the mouth of the poster above’ threads purely to tell the female 23 posts above, well then that’s just not acceptable.
Get over yourself man, back to the point in mind.

"According to the forum moderators I’m evil incarnate, I nit pick, air dirty laundry and have personally attacked other forum members. Guilty as charged…"
Banned for nit picking? Snap |

Ok. Now to answer the question. I stick to the rules generally.
Unless I think they're really wrong.
I'm not a risk taker so I would never want to risk getting in serious trouble, but if something is clearly a stupid rule I would ignore it. |

If I don't agree with the rule, or see a point in it, I'll have little regard for it.
I see it as flexing rather than breaking
I used to gleefully consider jobsworths a challenge to be taken on. I'm much more chilled out these days.

"I always follow the rules unless breaking them means I get a spanking
Kx
It certainly can mean that x
I better start breaking some rules then "
I’d better start with the corrective measures then. |

A bit of both depending on the rules.
I never break the law and am always honest. But if someone won't let me do something that I want or need to because of rules I will ask why.
The most annoying rule is having to take your helmet off when putting petrol in your motorcycle, especially in winter. I've even left a £10 note just inside the door as they wouldn't let me in the shop to pay for the fuel. |

Abider.
I realised at an early age how easy and trivial it was to break the rules.
I then realised how self-disciplined you need to be to follow them. Instead of giving way to my wants, I found it more disciplined to work within the parameters assigned.
I realised that there was little point feeling indignant if the rules restricted me. What I could change was my reaction to the rules, and instead of feeling aggrieved, I could work with the rules to my own advantage. And if the rules can be followed to a point where they effectively self-destruct, I'm up for that too on occasion. It's quite fun following rules to the letter, and seeing them collapse when someone missed something

I think I’m the rebellious type. If I know a rule is there I’ll try to get around it, bend it or completely break it.
If it doesn’t hurt anyone anyway. I’m a morally aware rule breaker |
