But I get a hot chocolate. Not coffee. I do like the smell though, so maybe I go just for the smell of coffee without needing to pay?

My Tassimo is long gone. An Aeropress is only about £30 online so why wait

I have a cafetiere and buy coffee from a local wholesaler. It's only something I've recently got into but the coffee is really nice

With how long it takes to brew, how do find time to do 5 of them?

Clacton/Bury St. Edmunds

If I use coffee then it tends to instant nowadays. I tend to veer towards South American beans. Sainurys do a (not remotely cheap) own brand from Costa Rica or there is a wonderful Cafe Direct from Macchu Picchu.

If I drink from a coffee house it's typically Starbucks but I only really frequent them at Christmas for the Eggnog.

I don't use Costa since they were taken over a fair few years back but will never go now they are owned by Coca-cola and have the cheapest and worst quality now.

You don't leave them to brew for too long. How long do you let yours brew?

About 8 minutes. Is that too much?

It's only a few minutes isn't it? 4 mins online it states. But say 4mins brew + 3 minutes to prepare and clean up. 7minues to make one cafetiere. 7m x 5 = 35 minutes a day making coffee. That's not that long surely?

Depends on the grind size.

It's a coarse grind which I thought needed a longer brew time, right?

In the west.

I only drink a double espresso as other coffees take too long to drink.

I go to Costa most of the time but, you can't beat an artisan coffeeshop.

We used to go to an independent run by a French couple. Their coffee was honestly the best we've ever had (in a coffee shop) in this country. At home we use a Nespresso with a variety of capsules we buy from an independent source.

We both love coffee.

There’s a small Cuban cafe not far from where I live that has a walk up coffee bar. The espresso or cafe con Leche is very good.

Yes, that's correct. Finer grinds will be more bitter if you let it brew too much - some grinds aren't suitable for the cafeterie at all. Medium fine at finest.

I have a cafetiere for every occasion ranging from a 3 cup to a 12 cup and I have a selection of Mokka pots for when my Italian friends call round.
