Peter Dinklage hasn’t actually berated them for making it, he just very rightfully pointed out the hypocrisy of them casting a Latina actress to play Snow White when they’re making a film about a group of Dwarfs that’s full of incorrect and offensive stereotypes. I agree with him.

Have they though? Dwarves are mystical creatures of folklore. With offshoots and variations over the years. Like those in lord of the rings, they were not stereotypes of little people. A proud and burly race, strong but stubborn. Hard working miners. Look at the dwarves in a the Witcher too, a little bit of comic relief sure, but not in the old offensive clownish way. Bad ass and proud.
The race of dwarves were a concept long before dwarfism. Not even targeted at those with the medical condition.
Now depending on how these 7 characters are portrayed, yes I fully agree with him. Are they to be the silly and constant stereotype comic relief? Are they to be played by little people or the Lord of the rings route of using camera angles and perspective shots? |

Classic case of ‘complain before you even saw it’. He’s not seen it, he’s not read the script, and he’s ignored the comments from Disney that “We are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community,".
It’s manufactured outrage at this stage. |

I have noticed recently pop culture commentators have been critical of a movement they call Woke, the commentators accuse this Woke movement of demanding change in society. and a cancel culture towards anyone who speaks against them.
Wokeness has raised its head in popular movies, and tv series, the latest being the James Bond movie no time to die, Indiana jones movie was cancelled due to script leaks and fans backlash towards Indys role being taken over by Phoebe waller bridge.
this lead to the saying "go woke go broke"
I would not support woke movies I love my heros to be flawed, and il will miss bond forever |
