Steven Graham is Scouse but not as good an actor as Freeman.
For me Graham is one of those actors who is always the same person what ever he's portraying.
Forget which film he played an American in recently but I winced at his accent. |

Agree whilst he's a good actor he doesn't have the same depth as Freeman..

Not sure which recent one. I've not been following too many movies this past year.
In Black Panther he played an American, and it was bad. Worse than Benedict Cumberbatch's American accent attempts. |

I get it, Benedict cumber batch played and looked the part of Dr Strange great. The accent meh. But it was a big part and accent aside he was great for the role. He made the character work.
Martin Freeman's role was a random CIA agent that could have been played by any American, and yet the went with a none American, and one with a dodgy American accent impersonation.
My guess is he took notes and is why he put in so much more effort to perfect the scouse accent. |

Absolutely confuses me as well. If it’s not a big role, why risk a terrible accent? He was completely outdone by Serkis too. Serkis actually did the best accent in the film for me but we know he’s quality.
Freeman definitely read the comments online and put in extra time in front of his mirror |
