.. and other 80’s songs.

What’s your fave tunes from that decade and why?

I am quite partial to a bit of EuroPop as my guilty pleasure, but in terms of memories and evocative songs then Prefab Sprout - The King of Rock and Roll takes me back to a birthday party in my teens that will always be memorable!

Tell me your 80s classics, Fabsters!

And let’s just overlook that the Salt n Pepa classic was actually released in 1990, right?

It’s late. And I haven’t had any cheese.

See… I have a problem with this song!!! The version released in Europe is rubbish…. The American version, completely different song and it’s really good

Worthing

A lot of the best heavy rock was around the time period 1980-1982. For me, that's never been bettered. So many bands put out some of their best material. AC/DC with Back in Black, Ozzy with Blizzard of Ozz, Motorhead with No Sleep Till Hammersmith, Van Halen with Fair Warning, Black Sabbath with Heaven and Hell etc.

There's just so much good stuff it's hard to single some out.

As far as memories go, my sister was mad for the Hi-Infedelity album by REO Speedwagon, so I still listen to it regularly today.

But, as they won't get a mention elsewhere, I would single out Fiction Factory - Feels Like Heaven, Midnight Oil - Beds Are Burning and the Adventures - Broken Land.
