.. and other 80’s songs.
What’s your fave tunes from that decade and why?
I am quite partial to a bit of EuroPop as my guilty pleasure, but in terms of memories and evocative songs then Prefab Sprout - The King of Rock and Roll takes me back to a birthday party in my teens that will always be memorable!
Tell me your 80s classics, Fabsters! |

"And let’s just overlook that the Salt n Pepa classic was actually released in 1990, right?
It’s late. And I haven’t had any cheese. "
See… I have a problem with this song!!! The version released in Europe is rubbish…. The American version, completely different song and it’s really good |

A lot of the best heavy rock was around the time period 1980-1982. For me, that's never been bettered. So many bands put out some of their best material. AC/DC with Back in Black, Ozzy with Blizzard of Ozz, Motorhead with No Sleep Till Hammersmith, Van Halen with Fair Warning, Black Sabbath with Heaven and Hell etc. |

There's just so much good stuff it's hard to single some out.
As far as memories go, my sister was mad for the Hi-Infedelity album by REO Speedwagon, so I still listen to it regularly today.
But, as they won't get a mention elsewhere, I would single out Fiction Factory - Feels Like Heaven, Midnight Oil - Beds Are Burning and the Adventures - Broken Land. |
