I've come to the conclusion that the UK is not the place to find a good job and forge ahead.

If you look at the jobs situation it's just dire so, thinking of relocation to the far east - I know the area well but anyone with valid input??

Really depends what sort of work you do... Different professions are more in demand in different locations
