"To replace David Cameron what do we all think x tell me you're having a laugh please? "
Do not be fooled by Boris playing the fool. He is a very intelligent and capable man as Ken Livingston found out. |

Yeah but there's usually a big difference between intelligence and common sense.
He'd be a breath of fresh air to the leadership I've no doubt, but I wouldn't want him making decisions that affect the country. And his upbringing is the same as Cameron.
The affable buffoon image would soon begin to wear thin I think, particularly as its always a case of "meet the new boss, same as the old boss". |

Despite some peoples reservation of Boris’s personality of demeanour, having successfully served as mayor over such a diverse metropolis like London, he has undoubtedly gained a realistic understanding of how to balance business and community needs along with social welfare and institutional governance…..
I’d like to see and end to this feckless coalition leadership and replace it with the combined talents of Boris and William Hauge working together leading the way with Vince Cable joining them as Chancellor of the Exchequer….!.

"About time we had someone with character and says what he thinks rather than these banal clones we have now."
Tbh, despite being a socialist I quite like Boris, he is sharp, decisive and despite being a toff he realy has the common touch.
I do remember the claims of disaster were the giant haystack to be elected as mayor, but London is still standing...
Boris would be a fantastic tory leader, which is why he wont get the job. much like Hesaltine and Ken Clarke the tories would rather have a pliable non entity than a strong election winner. |

Much as I would love to see that foppish twerp removed (along with his little pal, Gideon - Osbournes real name for those who don't know) as Leader, I doubt it will be Bo-Jo who does it as the timing is all wrong. Bo-Jo has three and a half years to go on his term as Mayor, and the next election is already set for May 2015 - only two and a half years away. First he would need to become an MP again, then challenge Cameron. Short of a miracle in the next 12 months (what was that? 3rd runway showdown??? Oh you cynics.....!) I doubt it will happen.
Now if he had remained an MP instead of being OberGruppenFuhrer of Londinium (as Bo-Jo no doubt refers to it in private) he may have had a better chance to mount a challenge, but.... he would not have had the gravitas his current position provides. Bit of a Catch 22 really...

Would love to see him as pm - yes he can be portrayed as a buffoon but tbh his honesty and ability to laugh at himself makes him very popular. And he has done a great job as mayor of London so why not ? |

Pork, we all know he refers to London as Londonium in public. To be fair to him I have never heard him refer to himself as ObenGruppenFuhrer. You are right, the timing is off for the next election but he is willing to play the long game, I think. |

No, he doesn't - that was me just being whimsical. Think it depends on whether 'Dave-matey' scrapes home at the next election or does a stormer. If the former, then the 'Grandees' are liable to 'tentatively suggest' that he should move aside before the next election to allow a stronger, more inspirational leader to be put in place. If that happens, then Bo-Jo is a shoe-in as far as I can see.
